NEW: Unbelievable. The government just caused the shut down of Hastings Racecourse as of 4pm today - a 133-year-old pillar of B.C.’s agricultural and equine community. I’ve asked for a meeting all week and somehow the Minister of Agriculture and the Solicitor General “forget” to invite me to the meeting!
This is a massive hit to the agriculture sector, the breeding industry, local businesses, and THOUSANDS of workers whose livelihoods depend on that track.
Shameful. Historic communities and entire agricultural sectors don’t disappear overnight…they’re erased by governments that think no one will notice. #SaveHastings #bcpoli

“Budget 2025 will see BC’s debt reach $166 billion, which will be a staggering ‼️$105 billion increase‼️ since Eby became leader. Stated plainly, the Eby govt has taken a wrecking ball to BC’s public finances.”
And yet, after all this spending, outcomes are worse than ever.
Under Eby, BC is in massive economic trouble “Stated plainly, the Eby government has taken a wrecking ball to British Columbia’s public finances…….And all of this is before we account for the potential negative effects of the Trump-initiated tariff war. “
Today's NDP announcement to address health & safety in "supportive" housing misses the mark entirely - that the core problem is the DRUGS! Here is what David Eby must do to hold govt & providers accountable for causing harm, save lives & keep our communities safe. 👇
All meetings and appointments at my Constituency Office are cancelled for the day due to a security incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning. Thankfully, nobody was injured, but incidents like this can be quite frightening. (1/3)
I’ll just leave this here. AB population 4.9 M. Govt spending $74B
$8.3B surplus
BC population 5.7 M. Govt spending $94B
$11 B deficit
That is all
* per capita healthcare spending close to the same. If same AB would still have a $5.3B surplus
Every member of the Legislative Assembly of BC must stand with NDP MLA Bowin Ma & her Constituency Office Staff.
The idea that someone would set off a device to damage or somehow threaten an MLA’s CA office is deeply concerning.
No one in BC should feel scared to go in to work.
After the Lost Liberal Decade, these are headlines we see in Canada today.
Chronic homelessness is up 38%, and food bank use and housing costs have doubled.
We can't afford a 4th Liberal term.
Vote for change. Vote Conservative.
When I was co-chair of my dear friend Ellis Ross’ leadership campaign, Ellis Ross and our whole campaign team advocated for Aaron to have the opportunity to run and remain on the ballot — my view hasn’t changed: Aaron Gunn must be allowed to run.
Aaron is an outstanding young man and friend — attempts by media and NDP to misrepresent his views on residential schools are wrong.
Aaron has repeatedly denounced what happened at residential schools as “truly horrific events”, and he has always taken the issue of at residential schools seriously — moreover, he has never mocked or maligned the history of residential schools or called into question the testimony of residential school survivors.
In fact, through his documentaries Aaron Gunn has become a leading advocate for economic reconciliation with First Nations, and has highlighted the disproportionate impact the addictions crisis has had on First Nations members and communities.
I look forward to working with Aaron Gunn — British Columbia’s next MP for North Island-Powell River.
Thank you @PeterMilobar for speaking out against Dallas Brodie’s residential school denialism.
It’s extremely concerning that there are no consequences for BC Conservative MLAs for picking fights that are so harmful to survivors.

@CastanetNews Nancy, so sorry for your loss. Al was an amazing person and will be missed by many. I was thrilled & honoured to celebrate the Sun Peaks resort municipality back in 2010 with Al as the first mayor. Al was an amazing person & community leader.
“We are going to our job as a group of 44,” said Milobar, speaking of the BC Conservative caucus. “It’s unfortunate that you see the Greens will be getting confidential briefings at a ministerial level and we can’t even get an answer like a simple date a document will get released ahead of time.”
British Columbia has lost an incredible advocate and a fighter for justice in the passing of Dan Coulter. We will keep Dan and his family in our hearts and remember him in the work that we do.
It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the loss of Dan Coulter, a devoted advocate for the people of British Columbia, a passionate voice for inclusivity and justice, and a cherished member of the BC NDP family.

On behalf of the BC NDP, we extend our deepest condolences to Dan’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. He was the very best of us.
