We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of Grit Road Fund II!
Our mission at @GritRd remains unchanged: to invest in the best seed-stage AgTech entrepreneurs who are solving real problems for Midwest producers.
Following the success of our first fund, Fund II will continue to provide capital and strategic support to founders with the grit and vision to redefine the agriculture ecosystem. We believe the future of AgTech is rooted right here in the Midwest, and we're just getting started. MORE HORSEPOWER.
I was too which is why I waiting until now. Gave up. Just had it triage 500+ unread emails. It categorized them then asked me questions and I directed it how to handle. Got down to 25 that needed my attention which I just went through the old fashioned way but it became manageable. Then set up a daily 7am brief that I’ll get that categorizes unread, reminds me of outstanding action items, summarizes newsletters, etc. It won’t take action with anything unless I direct it (ie I told it to mark all newsletters as read and move to separate folder automatically)
Love when investment people say “fih-NANCE” and “E-bit-DAHHH” like it’s a secret handshake. Sorry I don’t want to be in your stupid pronunciation club!
@CharlieCuddy Definitely that one at our age 😂. Might have to revise the time. I’ve never sniffed that 5k time either but I think that’s very doable with training
For years I’ve been trying to figure out the ultimate fitness standard for abnormal normal people (not paid athletes). I think I’ve finalized it: a 10-part test. All 10 have to be completed within a rolling 12-month period, with no more than 2 attempts at each challenge.
1. Deadlift: 2× BW × 5 / 2.5× BW × 1
2. Squat: 2× BW
3. Bench: 1.5× BW
4. Assault Bike: 100 cal < 5:00
5. 5K run: < 21:00
6. Half marathon: < 1:45
7. Pull-ups: 25 unbroken
8. Wall balls: 150 unbroken
9. Farmer’s carry: 1 mile @ 1× BW total < 20:00
10. 400m run: < 65 seconds
Going to see if I can get all 10 by the end of the year.
Nebraska already has the ingredients to become THE Global AgTech Hub™ - our opportunity now is to continue to connect them around this shared ambition and mobilize the entire innovation ecosystem here in the Midwest.
At the NE Chamber Foundation’s “Ag Tech & Beyond” event, Ben Williamson, co-founder of Grit Road Partners, made the argument that agtech is a blueprint for how Nebraska can be a global center for innovation across industries. 🌎 Since the establishment of The Combine and Grit...
Hey Matan - CEO of Cognition here. I respect the work you have done at Factory but your allegations here about Cognition are not true.
We have no interest in Factory’s info and Chris has never brought it up. He has not shared and would never share any information about you or Factory with our team, nor would we ever ask. Similarly, we would never ask our engineers or anyone on our team to collect info about any competitor under-the-table. Chris is an advisor to at least 10 companies, and he told you he was resigning as an advisor on Monday.
The truth is we both wanted Chris and for good reason - he is a living legend with an unmatched reputation for results and integrity. Not only is he the only person who has built a sales org from the first sales hire to over 3B, he also has built incredible teams that he cares deeply about. His people love working for him.
Again, I have a lot of respect for what you’ve built, but competing with integrity doesn’t include posts like yours.
