Listening to DOAC on YouTube (podcaster) and something struck me. His guest said top AI billionaires true goals aren’t to give you a better chatbot. They want utopia, immortality and to see the creation of a digital god. A poor, pale counterfeit of what God has already given us.
@Disciple4Lif@Franklin_Graham For Israel (the audience in the context of these verses) under the Gospel of the Kingdom, this was true. It is not applicable to the Body of Christ (which is not Israel) under the Gospel of Grace. 1Cor15:1-4. You are missing out on the Mystery revealed by Jesus to Paul.
@eri89494@Mike_Pence Amen! God only ever made a covenant with one nation in all history. And it wasn’t the USA.
Believers under the Gospel of Grace today are members of the Body of Christ - neither Jew nor Greek. Certainly not Israel!
@DineshDSouza Because God is withholding His Judgment and offering Salvation to all mankind by Grace through Faith that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again. That program ends when God brings His Judgement. Then, God will Judge the earth/evil will be met with Justice.
@Nanndy16 Yes - all are on equal footing in this dispensation of Grace. God favors no nation (in contrast to before Paul), and is not operating through covenants since Jesus came to Paul. Israel comes to belief now the same as all men and in so doing becomes part of the Body of Christ.
@uwumancer_ @ApexJones22 Yep. Two Jedi at the height of the Jedi Order’s power vs a trash collector just getting her feet wet with the force and a rusty Sith Lordling who hadn’t had a real challenge in his entire life.
@DKR_independent @WWURD_Official True all. But the NJ is the final form of that earthly Kingdom, is it not? Isa 9:7 talks about a Kingdom with no end. We know that the MK “ends” in fire and rebellion. Certainly Isaiah is talking about the Kingdom beyond that - where the “increase” shall have no end!
@DKR_independent @WWURD_Official It isn’t just the inhabitants though… it is also the city itself. The Old Testament is full of prophecies and promises about the literal Kingdom to come. Israel’s hope has always been pointing toward that Kingdom, and the NJ is the grand culmination of all of them.
@DKR_independent @WWURD_Official I mean, I kinda get it. The New Jerusalem is the city where the Kingdom Saints will live. The Glory of the City comes from God Himself - His presence, and His union with His people. The fulfillment of all the covenants and promises to believing Israel are tied up in that city.
@DKR_independent @WWURD_Official The fact is, God makes references to both the Body of Christ and Israel having a relationship with God that *is like* a marriage. It doesn’t mean that either entity *IS* a wife or bride. It’s one of those areas where if you take it entirely literally, it breaks down / gets silly.
@DKR_independent @WWURD_Official I did listen to his message on this topic yes. I was compelled as a result to not take so hard a stance on this because of the scriptures I mentioned. I myself will not call the church the Bride of Christ (as that’s nowhere in scripture) but I acknowledge the references.
@WWURD_Official@Nickymann99 Yes. A powerful question someone asked me to put this in its proper perspective was “which Tribe do you belong to?” Such clarity.
Today, we are the Body of Christ which is neither Jew nor Gentile. James was written to the believing remnant of Israel. Not us.
@skreizy_ I hear you. On our own there’s not much to like. But God has made us a part of His Body now, and that must be the identity that we embrace. We now know that our inclusion, redemption and acceptance by God is only made possible by His Glorious Grace and Christ’s cross work.
@Debra_XLR8 We are also dealing with this - and it hurts the most when it comes from family. When you’ve sacrificed and given and bled your life for them and they turn and spit in your face - it hurts. Don’t know that there’s any getting over it. But I do know my Savior endured worse for me.
@brunbitty Free will exists in the moment too. Go ahead and choose - it’s your choice. If God knows the outcome (how you will choose) His knowledge in no way affects your ability to choose freely.
Neo’s logic is wrong. So what if she knows? The choice and freedom to do it is still his.
@soothkeep Sometimes you have to set aside what you think you know in order to learn something new / something true. God’s preserved Word supersedes all traditions and isms that so many cling to. Letting those go and letting God’s Word be the one and only authority is life changing.
