@Gaming4242@G0ffThew ohohoho if you want a rabbithole to go down you should look up the illegal sand trade - its really interesting (&quite (morbidly) funny)

The Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering teams at Wizards of the Coast have just announced they're unionizing. In a letter of demands, the union has urged Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast leaders to stop pushing generative AI. https://t.co/cCnL2ff5Ar
There is nothing racist about any ethnic or religious group wanting their own homeland.
The problem is if this desire is at the expense of another people.
Zionism in practise meant "a homeland at the expense of Palestinians".
It's really not hard to grasp this basic point!
@mathepi@SketchesbyBoze if robots were to automate everything that humans didn't want to do (mining, manufacturing, farming, etc) then surely we wouldn't need a market system of distribution?
the real trouble is that the ai is replacing the things we *do* want to do: make art and express ourselves.
Pope Leo says, “The speed and ease with which answers or summaries can be obtained risk extinguishing the desire to ask questions.” Almost alone among public leaders, he recognises that AI threatens to abolish curiosity, making human beings more like machines.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Pros: we took a picture of the fundamental fabric of matter, the absolute minimal possible reduction. We transcended human limits in a profound way. This is comparable to the moon landing.
Cons: It's hexagonslop again.
