🔸🔹I AM FEELING BETTER.
Its days I cherish a lot because I will be able to do things I like and fulfill some of my plans. However this does not mean that I can push myself too much or I will have another episode of a crisis if I over do it.
I AM HAVING A CRISIS.
On days like these I need more rest and help from my family and friends because the pain requires me to be in bed.The pain won't allow me to do some of the daily tasks I had planned to do.Its days like these that I am grateful everyone who offers to help.
When you assess #SickleCell pain, the only number that matters is the patient’s pain rating.
Not the heart rate, not the blood pressure, not the respiratory rate.
Not the hemoglobin, fetal hemoglobin, or reticulocyte count.
#BelievethePatient
Listen, and treat the pain.
Stumbled on season 4 of the @ResidentFOX(season 4 episode 7) where they briefly showed a patient with Sickle cell disease. Had me thinking of warriors each time we visit the E.R.
#SickleCellmatters#SickleCellAwareness
Living with Sickle cell disease is hard. Living with Sickle cell and dealing with everything involved during the Covid pandemic is even harder.
