@Kronykal If couldn't retire now comfortably without SS, I'm positive you wouldn't have invested when you were younger. Anyone who worked and invested in the 25 year bull market should be pretty comfortable without SS.
@Carby_J Try to at least make your lies believable. If you made $1M/yr from '75-'25 (50 years) the max you would have paid is $270k with a $270k match from your employer. I love when y'all keep shouting bullshit that is easily verifiable.
@ChrisMc57285617@MattWalshBlog Your saying it's bullshit that Boomers will take more than they put in. Assuming you only collect for 20 years, you would have had to have an average salary of $225k over those 40 years. Most people who started working in the 80s do not have an avg salary of $225k over 40 years.
@WeirdGutFeeling@fwolfe65@MattWalshBlog In order to have paid $700k in SS and Medicare taxes, your average taxable salary was ~ $225k over 40 years. Given a 25 year bull market, you should be able multi-millionaire who doesn't need SS.
@rbertoniere@CarolinaHODL21m@MattWalshBlog If you were a true republican you would eliminate SS and Medicare so we can pay down the deficit.

@rbertoniere@MattWalshBlog You need to go into a business, ask the manager for a job, and don't leave until he gives you one. There's no shame working hard for a living, even at 80.
@SquidbillyCPO1@magajcs@remarks Boomer generation has had the best opportunity to succeed and will be the first generation to leave life worse off than they had it. Post WWII economic boom, sustained bull markets, affordable housing, access to higher education, etc. There's a reason it's called Generation Me.
