Thrilled to announce that @BlairBenhamPyle has been named an NIH New Innovator! This support from the @NIH_CommonFund is so meaningful and we can’t wait to share the resulting science with you!
First @BenhamPyleLab retreat is in the books! After a day of lab brainstorming we got to enjoy some much deserved relaxation… tie dye lab coats, glass painting, brunch at Lucille’s, and an afternoon at the Houston Museum of Natural Science!

We are celebrating today !!!! Congratulations to our very own Jake Chamblee for being offered an NSF graduate research fellowship!! Well deserved!!

@BlairBenhamPyle joined the hosts of @stemcellpodcast to discuss why planarians and their stem cells are an amazing model to explore the cellular mechanisms that underly indefinite regenerative capacity. Check it out!

We're back with a brand new episode!
Dr. @BlairBenhamPyle from @bcmhouston joins us to talk about her research on #planarian flatworms and how they regenerate! 🪱

We are excited to welcome Amit Dubey as our first postdoctoral scholar!! So excited to see all the great science he does over the next few years… stayed tuned!
@BlairBenhamPyle visited the @MSarsCentre to discuss how scRNAseq and spatial transcriptomics can identify new cell types underlying regenerative capacity. And, she got to see all the fun creatures of the @Pawel_Burkhardt, @lionlchristiaen, @PRHSteinmetz, and Chatzigeorgiou labs!
Amazing talk today by Blair Benham-Pyle from @BenhamPyleLab@BCMHouston on how genes, cell types, and microenvironments are required for planarian regeneration. Thank you so much for visiting us! 🙏👏

Congratulations to Jake Chamblee for being the first Benham-Pyle Lab graduate student to pass their qualifying exam! Amazing job and lots of cool science to look forward to!

Tonight I had a great time participating in forum night @recroomhtx! What do biology, psychotherapy, and theater have in common? We found out with their performance of A Number (playing through Feb 25) & great discussion on cloning, identity, ethics, and human relationships.
We just posted a new version of our planarian spatial transcriptomics story! Lots of new analysis & RNAi functional testing. Check it out!

It’s #FlatwormFriday and we celebrated the commissioning of our planarian aquatic environment! This multi-tiered flowing river will house our growing animal colony starting (fingers-crossed) next week! Wish the sentinel planaria good luck and good health :)
