La France n’oublie pas Mahsa Amini. Elle se tient aux côtés des Iraniennes et des Iraniens qui aspirent légitimement à la justice et à la dignité. Ils doivent pouvoir décider librement de leur avenir. Leurs droits fondamentaux doivent être respectés.

This September will be a turning point for Iranian people and the Regime!
The attacks are starting from #US but, I think this time would be much different from before as in the ground!

HATAM IS DYING IN PNG, URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO BRING HIM TO AUSTRALIA

Updates infpormation from Paradise Hospital in Port Moresby indicates that the Kurdish-Iranian  asylum seeker, Hatam Yekta, may only have days to live. The photo attached was taken on 30 June, but his condition has deteriated since then.. 

Hundreds of letters, emails and phone calls have been made to Labor, Green and Indpendent MPs over the last two weeks urging the Alabnaese government to urgently act to bring Hatam to Australia to obtain the medical and phsycological help he needs.

On 2 July, Iranian and other refugees from Manus Island but who have gained safety in New Zealand held a protest outside the Australian consulate in  Auckland calling for Australia to to save Hatam's life. 

Hatam is just 36 years. He has been held in PNG for 13 years, aftrer being sent to Manus Island detention centre in 2013.  Hatam has been unwell for many years, after sufferin gso much from detention. He had been approved by the Labor government for medevac to Australia in 2019 but his transfer was abandoned after the Morrison government repealed the medevac legislation in December that year. 

Despite pleas by advocates and doctors, consecutive Liberal and Labor governments since 2019 have refused to transfer Hatam to Australia. 

There are at least another six refugees in PMG who are too unwell to egnage with immigration or refugee authorities. Like Hatam, they are at serious risk, if they are not brought to Australia

“It is urgent that the Labor government acts to medevac Hatam to Australia,” said Ian Rintoul, spokesperson for the Refugee Action Coalition, “It is simply unconscionable that the government would deny Hatam the medical and mental health care he needs.

“Labor has a particular responsibility for Hatam and other refugees still in PNG. It was a Labor government that sent them to PNG in 2013, and it was a Labor government that introduced the Medevac legislation, that bought some to safety in 2019. 

"The injustice of leaving Hatam to die in PNG is obvious. The humanitarian thing to do is to bring Hatam to Australia.

"Tony Burke needs to act now. Time is running out"
