Not really seeing any chemistry on my feed here anymore. And I was here for the chemistry. So I think I'm out for now.

Impressed that my employer @TrentUni has banned flying for work inside the UK or to European Eurostar destinations. Trains are still stupid expensive though. Could somebody fix that?
First day back from maternity leave today, and I just quit all the tabs on my browser. It felt good. Tempted to delete the 1.5k unread emails too but I know I don't have the courage.
As always @TobiKraemer is the perfect collaborator in being there first with the news! This one was painfully slow with revisions completed on mat leave one baby nap at a time, but we got there! Thank you :)
Omar from @BenjaminChemNTU group stayed with us a few years ago to learn about Computational Chemistry, and part of this work has just been published online @Orgmet_ACS. Read about triarylchlorostibonium cations with tunable Lewis acidity. https://t.co/Cjker2I0AK

I have funding for a new PhD studentship on lanthanide coordination chemistry & molecular magnetism for an Oct 2023 start. Formal advert to follow but early enquiries are welcome.
@ConradGoodwin@mynameis_rob@TheNelsonGroup@ralphwadams Do you have a reference for when you did this Conrad? Trying to justify why I can't see these in my normal 13C NMR for a reviewer, somehow my desperate use of google has led me to this tweet
As a hint, starting an email to a female academic with 'Dear Sir' tends to mean that the remainder of your email is not read with the positive and receptive attitude you might be hoping for
Could bismuth prove key to overcoming antibiotic resistance? Bi drugs are widely used but we know very little about their structures and modes of action – join us to explore these Cinderella molecules and unlock their potential to combat one of the world’s biggest health crises.

USS tell me I can choose between 'default' and 'ethical' lifestyle options for the investment builder. What does @USSpensions consider ethical? I can find no specific information anywhere but not sure I want to trust their judgement given recent antics...
Boring grumble of the day: I now have to manually click 'post' on every comment I make in Word. Twice as many clicks needed and I can't seem to learn so it keeps jerking me back to my 'unfinished' comment.
After a cup of tea and an actually helpful email from IT (still in shock), self-pity levels have declined to a safe point and I have regained some measure of perspective. At least I get the option to work from home, I know I'm lucky!
My work laptop is not heavy. But when 6 months pregnant and commuting on foot, it's heavy enough to be annoying to carry every time I want to wfh. Just spent a few hours trying to get software on my home laptop unsuccessfully. Why does it have to be so hard? I just want to sleep.
