@Drug_Researcher@longseventies I agree fully. It lets me wonder however, what exactly it is in the scientist's toolbox that makes him a necessary ingredient in a psychedelic experience, as is currently being aimed at in the medicalized approach. I.e., why I cannot trip with say my experienced best friend
@APRAresearch The authors report a dose-response relationship for prolonged psychotic reaction, yet not a single case of prolonged psychosis (>24h) is reported in any of their studies is reported. How is that possible?
@melodaysong Harms should by studied in the same study-based systematic ways as the benefits - anecdotes are of no worth. Those studies have been conducted decades ago and didnt identify systematic dangers. on the flipside possible benefits have also all been studied in the 70s without result
@GeorgeKirov1 Instead of investigating what caused the student to break down we bombard his brain with electricity to wipe out them demons who surely have to be in there. And the people administering it praise their achievement. Reminiscent of good old days of insulin coma therapy and the like
@D_E_McCulloch@drknatzpeck@WalterKaye Given that neither on BMI nor on depression a statistically significant effect could be determined, even in this heavily pre-selected patient group, isn't that rather disappointing - especially comparing to other pilot studies, eg the smoking addiction one with 80% success rate?
