@SamMonsonNFL As a Brit, I can't lie, I was so fascinated by the Shedeur stuff because it was sport and culture wrapped into one in a way my foreign brain couldn't quite comprehend.
Probably was one of the things that made me actually watch all the QBs last year even as a casual fan
@StevePalazzolo_ Obviously football you can change personnel every snap as soccer subs are more limited but it's always been a discussion in soccer
If everyone is committed to 12/13 personnel the supply of TEs won't meet demand and maybe the best way to get taken in the field is lighter sets
@StevePalazzolo_ I'm excited for Florida to roll out 11 safeties and 11 receivers next year
It's a big question with international soccer. Do you pick guys for a system or try and get the best players on the pitch. England had issues shoehorning guys in, this world cup it's all about the system
Been impressed by Mark Adair bowling for Ireland against NZ.
Seems crazy Irish players count as overseas in the county game. Some of them are from NI and even from ROI they can vote and work in the UK without fuss.
Adair should be playing Champo and not being overseas.
@mroller98 Finger injuries are weird and vague.
Kohler-Cadmore got one round 2 of the county champo and is still out. I'm sure sometimes they can just be brushed off.
But it's possible he's out for a bit.
Had an infection and got stressed so stopped watching rugby again for a bit. But now got the final on and Bordeaux are a lot of fun.
Attacking philosophy seems to have developed so much I recent years
And the world cup of course.
Maybe I'll get the FPL bug again next year. But I might just watch games and chill. I don't think I can be as good of an FPL player as I was or want to be any more so I'll just find it frustrating. Maybe I need a weird way to have fun with it.
Stopped playing FPL this year because i wasn't watching games and just missed deadlines and couldn't keep up. Lost the love of it really.
Ironically I've started watching more football since as something to just wash over me and excited for the final day and European finals
@NoContextCounty That said, still think North was a better hire than Gough. But I'm not gonna mock Gough for a team a lot of people would pick.
Although Will Jacks I guess is a bit surprising.
@NoContextCounty I guess no selector for this team was gonna be truly ground breaking. And the role of selector is probably greatly reduced from years ago with readily available stats and streams making the job easier.
Not being left field probably isn't terrible.
@DanKingdom96 With 18 teams and a high variance format, winning back to back is so so hard.
You'd have to say the team is probably weaker than last year too so I think even getting to finals day would be a great season.
Heartbreaking for Hearts.
But if sport wasn't unbelievably cruel sometimes, it wouldn't have the capacity to be magical.
Was rooting for the Edinburgh boys because I did really love living there https://t.co/MCMFC1uPTW
Incredibly hot take. Football is good when there's lots of goals and chances.
I know people are upset about the hand ball penalty. But I wonder if punishing defenders harshly like that means they tuck their arms, can't move as well and it opens up more space?
@DanKingdom96 Flip side is younger guys get opportunities that otherwise don't exist. Smeed and Vaughan got an innings they wouldn't have got otherwise. And that maybe is good for developing players with just more time in the middle.
@DanKingdom96 Much higher rate than the 1 in 4 games expected, but small sample so far. But outside of the food poisoning, they all seem like fair enough subs that would have been expected. Might just be small samples and it calms down.
So might need some tightening.
