Last week, Primacy Strategy Group once again had the opportunity to support the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce to coordinate a powerful and productive fly-in to Washington, D.C.
It was a privilege to facilitate meetings with members from the North Dakota and Minnesota congressional delegations, as well as to convene a panel of senior leaders working in Washington, DC with Midwest roots, including key officials from Capitol Hill, the Farm Service Agency, and the Department of the Interior.
The action packed week included engagement with senior leadership from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Major Generals from the Air National Guard, and a key agricultural briefing from House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member, Congresswoman Angie Craig. The group held discussions with staff from Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s office on the state of the administration and the outlook for reconciliation 2.0 and met with Carlos Vanderloo, Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Trade Policy at the Canadian Embassy, at their headquarters for a briefing on U.S.–Canada relations and shared policy priorities.
We are proud to support the Chamber’s efforts to advocate for the region and connect with national leaders on the issues that matter most!
Last week, the Health&PensionWORKS Coalition had the opportunity to come together again in Washington, DC for our annual fly-in!
The week kicked off with a coalition briefing and dinner ahead of our Capitol Hill meetings, providing a chance for members to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that drive our work forward.
The following day, coalition members took that energy to the Hill, engaging with policymakers and staff to advance meaningful conversations on the issues that matter most to our industry and workforce, specifically on the Multiemployer Plan Relief Act.
We are incredibly grateful to our members for their time and commitment!
I met with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades this week and presented a Congressional Record Insert to Terry Nelson in honor of his retirement. Terry has been a tireless advocate for labor in our state since day one – so much so that August 11 was officially designated Terry Nelson Day in Minnesota!
Terry, congrats on your retirement. I hope this new chapter brings time with family, new experiences and many happy Terry Nelson Days to come.

Last week in Washington DC, Primacy Strategy Group’s client @ALLETE_Inc engaged directly with Members of the Minnesota and North Dakota congressional delegations to advance their goal of providing reliable, resilient and affordable energy across the United States. We want to thank @SenAmyKlobuchar, @SenKevinCramer, @RepFedorchak, and @RepPeteStauber for taking the time to meet with our group to discuss ALLETE’s footprint in the upper Midwest, improving grid reliability and other legislative priorities.
Lois Delmore was one of the first people I met when I got elected to the state Senate. She worked every day to make her constituents’ lives better. She was a fantastic legislator, a good friend, and a great human. She was one of the best. There is a Lois-sized hole in the state now that she is gone.
“She was pragmatic & also very empathetic to the process & the needs of her constituents, as well as to other legislators,” @coreymock said. “…the legislative process is a relationship process. You are here to do a job for your constituents & you can’t do that job alone.”
PSG client Goldfinch Health is bringing innovative solutions to the table in the midst of the opioid crisis. Goldfinch Chief Strategy Officer & Co-founder John Greenwood, joined @790KFGO guest host @ThomasBeadle recently to talk about their work in states like North Dakota to reduce the unnecessary use of opioids for surgery recovery. Listen to it here: https://t.co/HkncM5RBN8
“This is about making sure that the providers understand, and the patients understand their options and alternatives, and how they can play a role in treating pain better, even down to the timing of it as well,” John Greenwood, co-founder of Goldfinch Health said.
Primacy Strategy Group is proud of its role in bringing healthcare innovation to South Dakota. PSG client Goldfinch Health’s tools and education create better surgery outcomes and recovery for patients —along with fewer unnecessary opioids. With a track record of successful established programs in neighboring midwestern states, Goldfinch’s application for the Rural Health Transformation Fund will be a game changer for South Dakota.

Health screenings save lives through early detection of diseases like breast cancer. I talked with @dakotanews_now’s Grant Green about programs like All Women Count impact the health of South Dakotans earlier this week:
The All Women Count! program provides these services under the state Department of Health for women who fall under certain age ranges and income levels. https://t.co/A8yhK6cIAG
This week, I visited with reps from the American Cancer Society. We had an important conversation on how we can support funding and research for cancer patients. This issue is personal for me and I appreciate this group’s commitment to fighting for cancer patients and cancer research.
