Hi everybody. Based on my calculation, Tesla's global order backlog was 74K on 31 Dec, down from 190K on 30 Nov. The backlog was zero in the US & Canada and it was close to zero in China.
A new calculation that I posted today can be found here: https://t.co/6usJ6flXYG

@DriveTeslaca There is a simpler explanation. More Model 3/Y production for China or for exports is not needed. Giga Shanghai and Giga Berlin are more than enough.
What is needed is a compact car but it's not ready yet. So, new factory plans are paused until the compact car is ready.
Battery prices, which were above $1,100 per kilowatt-hour in 2010, have fallen 87% in real terms to $156/kWh in 2019. By 2023, average prices will be close to $100/kWh.

The @USTreasury remains “deeply concerned” by the trade imbalance between the two countries, as well as by China's nontariff barriers, nonmarket mechanisms, the “pervasive” use of subsidies and other “unfair practices.”
