Seeing comments about faculty don’t make that much. True but they deserve and should push for more. A PhD in industry (at least in tech/BioMed) will quickly surpass that 7+ y range within 2-3 y post transitioning after PhD.

@DrManisitDas Omg YES! I had such misconceptions about this while still in academia! There’s so much talk how collaborative science is and how individualistic the private sector.
But I found the opposite.

PhDs can land industry roles without formal work experience.

There are roles where your PhD skills are needed NOW.

Choose your target role wisely. Learn to communicate your existing skills in language that lands.

I've seen it happen for >70 PhDs.
It's possible for you, too.
