2 years ago the city had to fell a massive maple that had dying and dropping large branches on my family. I know how important they are to biodiversity, so I turned its carcass into what I'm calling a #biodiversity fountain. The neighbors love me.
@theodorus5@amyneurons I recently moved out of freesurfer DKT atlas space (used by Brainder) into MNI atlas space and it makes all the difference because I can use registered average brains in the same coordinates as tractography, vasculature, etc.
@InsiderTakes@Jon_Hartley_ My father worked for Industry Canada specifically around the aerospace industry. The death of the Avro Arrow was a bitterness he held on to his whole life; there was a persistent shame that it was never made.
1/ 🚀 Excited to release: napari-mcp - agentic control of napari from any MCP-capable AI assistant!
Use it for interactive image processing, analysis, and visualisation! Really cool project from @ilan_theodoro in my team!

@InsiderTakes My dog dislocated her hip. Emergency vet treatment within a few hours. Vet clinic did xrays under sedation and relocated the hip the following day. Doctor even called to follow up and see how they're doing. Never seen a human get this level of care.
@amyneurons@alexalbert__ I made these with Processing many moons ago, for the turning vs growth rate modulation models:
https://t.co/BIbF8T3NH8
But you could use the mouse pointer from this chemotaxis one:
https://t.co/SS9yZMIfgC
(code available for both)
@amyneurons@alexalbert__ Very cool! I bet they'd even be able to implement the biophysical turning model to allow concentration gradients to guide the turning, using the models in this paper:
https://t.co/8ftK8Rf0eq
The mouse position could be the gradient source. It would be snake + stochasticity
Here's an #visualization of the visual processing in the flies eye, one of the most beautiful structures in nature.
First we see photoreceptors in red and blue, camera spins showing columnar circuitry for processing the 'pixels' of the visual field

Lots of interest in #connectome whole brain #emulation this week. This is such an exciting area.
Re-posting an old animation I made using the connectome of the flies eye with a spiking #neuron simulation
