Council members have today approved our budget for the next financial year which includes a 4.99% increase in council tax.
Our finances have been hit by a reduction of more than £40 million each year through the Government’s decisions. Even after savings and a 4.99% council tax increase, the decision has had to be taken today to use £17 million in reserves to balance the budget for 2026/27.

If you've not yet got your postal vote can go to our main offices your constituency with an accepted photo identification to receive a replacement ballot paper.
You'll be given the choice to either fill in a form before handing the ballot paper in at the office in a sealed envelope that will be provided or you can take it to a polling station on polling day and fill in a form there.
