Bill Maher drags his woke guest out of his liberal bubble and tells him to his face heโs why Kamala Harris lost.
It all started when David Cross revealed his 9-year-old daughter has โtrans friends.โ
โWait, she has trans friends in third grade?โ Maher asked.
Cross replied: โYep,โ as if itโs completely normal and something society should embrace.
Thatโs when Maher dropped the hammer and told him straight up that no, somebodyโs doing something to that little girl.
Cross immediately got defensive, but Maher refused to back down.
He told Cross that believing a 9-year-old girl is deciding to be trans on her own is exactly the kind of liberal insanity that lost Kamala Harris the election in 2024.
And if Democrats keep it up, JD Vance is going to win in 2028.
By the end of this exchange, Cross is left sitting there looking like a deer in headlights, like heโs never been challenged on โtrans kidsโ in his life.
This is a moment worth watching, but if youโre somewhere you canโt play it, the transcript is below:
MAHER: โYou need to be checked. People need to be checkedโฆ including your little girl.โ
CROSS: โFck that btch. (joking) Fck that little btch with her black friends and trans friends and not even understanding.โ
MAHER: โTrans?! Wait, she has trans friends in third grade?โ
CROSS: โYep.โ
MAHER: โThey know theyโre trans in third grade?โ
CROSS: โJust the coolest kid.โ
MAHER: โ[Is kid transitioning from] girl to boy?โ
CROSS: โGirl to boy. And she has another very close friend whoโs not in the school, but whoโs boy to girl at three years old.โ
MAHER: โA woman said [to me] โI was what they called a tomboy. If I was alive now and acted the way I did then, thatโs what they would have done to me.โโ
CROSS: โWell, nobodyโs doing this to her.โ
MAHER: โWell, I donโt know.โ
CROSS: โLiterally nobody is doing this to her.โ
MAHER: โHow old?โ
CROSS: โShe is โ or HE is โ either eight or I think nine.โ
MAHER: โOkay, then somebody is doing something because eight or nine-year-olds canโt do anything on their own.โ
CROSS: โNo, theyโre buying them boys' clothes.โ
MAHER: โWell then, theyโre doing something.โ
CROSS: โSure. Yes, youโre right. Theyโre buying them boys' clothes.โ
MAHER: โAnd telling them youโre a boy now.โ
CROSS: โNo, no, theyโre not telling them. Theyโre just agreeing with [them].โ
MAHER: โAgreeing with an 8-year-old. Because when has their judgment ever been off at 8?โ
CROSS: โYou know you knew you werenโt gay, right?โ
MAHER: โYeah, thatโs different.โ
CROSS: โItโs not different.โ
MAHER: โIt is different. Good luck with President Vance. Because, as I always say to my woke friends, we voted for the same person. Youโre just why she lost and this is a case of that.โ
CROSS: โWait, what?โ
MAHER: โWe voted for the same personโฆโ
CROSS: โRight.โ
MAHER: โYouโre just why she lost. Because America hears this, and theyโre going to go, โBillโs right. Eight-year-olds canโt really make decisions on their own like this.โ Thatโs what most people are going to say.โ

There is a way past the absurd and deeply divisive โwarโ between the President and the Pope, which has been enthusiastically ginned up by the press. And it is indicated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2309 to be precise. After laying out the various criteria for determining a just warโproportionality, last resort, declaration by a competent authority, reasonable hope of success, etc.โthe Catechism points out that โthe evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.โ The assumption is that the just war principles function, to use the technical term, as heuristic devices, designed to guide the practical decision-making of those civil authorities who have to adjudicate matters of war and peace.
The role of the Church, therefore, is to call for peace and to urge that any conflict be strictly circumscribed by the moral constraints of the just war criteria. But it is not the role of the Church to evaluate whether a particular war is just or unjust. That appraisal belongs to the civil authorities, who, one presumes, have requisite knowledge of conditions on the ground. So, is the war in question truly the last resort? Is there really a balance between the good to be attained and the destruction caused by the war? Are combatants and non-combatants being properly distinguished in the waging of the conflict? Do the belligerents have right intention? Is there a reasonable hope of success? The posing of those questionsโindeed the insistence upon their moral relevanceโbelongs rightly to the Church, but the answering of them belongs to the civil authorities.
The Pope has said, on numerous occasions, that he is not a politician and that his role is not the determination of any nation's foreign policy. But he has just as clearly said that he will continue to speak for peace and for moral constraint. In making both of these claims, he is operating perfectly within the framework of paragraph 2309 of the Catechism. If we understand that the Pope and the President have qualitatively different roles to play in the determination of moral action in regard to war, we can, I hope, extricate ourselves from the completely unhelpful narrative of โPope vs. President.โ

Nigerian Christians are being martyred, their churches burned, and they still gather to profess the name of Christ.
Christians are the most persecuted religion on the planet, but the news will rarely report on this.
