Therapist treating insomnia, nightmares and trauma in NY, NJ, DE, ME, MA, SC, VA, WV, VT and FL. former clinical SW at @VeteransHealth #sleep#nightmares#ptsd
@RepLaLota There is stigma but there’s also job security concerns. Many first responders are not seeking therapy until after retirement.
I would like to see modified policies around who is unfit for duty. In reality, the person not seeking help when needed is the greater risk.
Congress is prioritizing golf money over Americans’ cognitive health. @RobertKennedyJr, @MAHA_Action, @MAHA_PAC, please help Ditch Daylight Saving Time and Save Standard Time!
An underappreciated CPTSD recovery hack is to create. Create anything. Art, music, food. It doesn't have to be objectively "good," or objectively anything-- just create. Make. Generate. Creativity oils every aspect of our recovery work. It literally reanimates our brain & heart.
The fact you haven't done CPTSD recovery "perfectly"-- join the club, by the way-- isn't a reason to quit. You're not supposed to do it "perfectly." This isn't a command performance.
This is you figuring out what realistically works for your life, not what looks good on Insta.
@ElvisDuranShow Every age group has ambitious interns and ones that aren’t very motivated. It’s unrealistic to compare average interns to the most successful people who worked their way up through the ranks.
Anyone who slacked years ago is long gone.
Congrats for beating the odds, Danielle!
@Anynymity@SueBee77852798@AndrewYang Research supports year round standard time. This would benefit those with SAD because they wouldn’t be making a time adjustment. SAD is caused by reduced hours of light. We would be advising clients with SAD to shift their schedule if it was simply a timing issue.
@CliffConnolly You’ve gotten good suggestions already. I would look if there’s an EAP first. I’m hoping for a less fragmented system in the future. Feel free to message me if you want help finding possible resources.
@mcmolloy7@mirrorindy Veterans are 5x more likely to identify as transgender- often not coming out until after active service.
We have 1 million Veterans who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
We need Veteran-centered care and Veteran-centered care includes addressing the unique needs of all.
@MacFarlaneNews I’m truly surprised. I once worked for the VA and we were chronically understaffed. This negatively impacts Veteran care and could cost more money in the long run - it takes a lot of money and time to onboard new people.
Veterans deserve better.
We are so close to 10 hours of sunlight in the NY metro area 🙌 🎉
Morning light is so important but not having enough to spread through the day isn’t the most enjoyable part of the year. Welcome to the days of increased daylight! 🌞
@Austen@wadeeyerly You could also shift your schedule an hour earlier or later if you want. Most jobs wouldn’t budge and it’s rather silly to shift everyone and not have noon sun at noon.
