@CorkAirport No coffee in Cork Airpot this a.m. Sad that management can’t get the simple things right. Makes you wonder how well the complex things are managed.
@DavQuinn On the premise that the state lasts forever repaying the debt would be a waste of opportunity. Servicing the debt is a much cheaper option, while time will render it insignificant.
Investing in long term capital projects will will yield a much greater dividend from that money.
@rtenews If Oasis had started ticket prices high and started reducing them due to poor demand nobody would be complaining. Dynamic pricing works both ways. It’s the essence of a free market. Has anybody tried to buy a house recently. This is all just silly season nonsense.
@BowesChay@Flyck66 The fair deal scheme doesn’t take anybody’s home. It puts a 7.5 % per annum, capped at 3 years, lien on his property that is to be paid when he passes and the property is sold by his estate. This is a vast improvement on what went before when families had to get into debt to pay.
@Niall_Boylan Lots of bricklayers getting paid more than lots of accountants. The converse is also true. Supply and demand, experience and replaceability come into it.
@ExCllrRedmond Even if it was a well functioning screening service which I agree its not, it’s still only a screening service, not the comprehensive regular dental care and supervision that children need.
Sorry to see that Euthymol toothpaste seems to be back in fashion. On the shelf beside fluoride toothpastes and pharmacists saying it's selling fast. Are people aware that it has no fluoride and, as a result, using it will substantially increase your risk of getting tooth decay?
