1/6 To my students: The problem with the SAE levels (0-5) is that these are simply engineering targets, not products to buy. Whenever engineers define a system, you have to target a perfect level. A perfect score. A goal to aim for.

@EndOfDriving WHY? Bec of aging population. Pets keep company, but elderly can't walk them as readily. So the concept makes sense, but I am doubtful of the realization. Kinda glad I am not a dog, after all.
@fordnation, I know you did not personally set up this scam, but you paved the road to this BS. This is #8 in 10 days. If you do not make it stop, I will not vote for you. #Ontario#license#licensesticker#SCAM

Our ecosystem is extensive and growing with innovators not only advancing #smartmobility solutions but also defining and creating guidelines and standards for their deployment worldwide. #CITMinnovator#UrbanRoboticsFoundation is one example:

The 1st episode of the 2nd season of Robotics for All Podcast by AV&R is now available! 🎙
@MichaelJMuldoon with Bern Grush (@TransitLeap) unpack the Toronto City Council December 17th decision to ban robots on their streets & sidewalks.
Listen now! ➡️ https://t.co/sEv6qaY1cP
@jonovision_man@joe17322951@DRPS EXACTLY! They said that after the first car crash, too in 1887. And that was the end of cars! Thank god!
Wait! What? Really? We still have cars? No way!
@JN_Seattle@levkushner@Greg_Lindsay@CityLab Thanks for this John. Very insightful. A lot to chew on. I think there’s more to the unfolding story, but there’s a lot here.
There are likely secondary effects on automotive traffic depending on how these deliveries are made and that is what is difficult to project.
I wonder if @kristynwongtam would have lent a hand? I hope so. Maybe the meal inside the robot was destined for a senior, or a person using a wheelchair. So I’m sure she would’ve helped out. @tartavull
Modern times in Estonia. A robot which had become stuck in the snow, saw me coming, and asked with a synthesised voice whether I could help out. So I did, and both of us carried on with our day.
Only 1 lobbyist? Really? Isn’t that beneath the threshold of caution that Toronto Council normally takes? Luckily for council this is a tiny business that may be unable to afford legal help. Easily crushed. But next year when an Uber or Amazon arrives, then what? @kristynwongtam
@kristynwongtam https://t.co/yNnfcc0aL9 was set up to help cities coordinate their robotics policies, especially for sidewalk robotics in order to avoid conflicts like this. Most of the comments here are empathetic to innovation that might help our goods mobility problems. That is heartening.
