Be more concerned with your character than reputation because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what people think you are.
man someone finally said the quiet part out loud. Luxury tax is the same premise as Max Salaries for players. Imagine if 28 year old Lebron James would have said "Im not going to play this year because I can only be paid 17 million dollars" (He was worth 100)
Bill Simmons on the Nuggets: “Why do they have to trade anybody to sign Peyton Watson?
You have Jokic in your team, pay everyone, F*** off. Kroenke has a gazillion dollars, just keep everybody AND pay Peyton Watson. Your owner is super rich, what are we doing?”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: “It was a failure. I failed at my goal. I didn't achieve what I wanted to achieve. But through those experiences, I learn the most about myself and make the greatest amount of increases in my career when I fail."
This is why I’m against the doomerism right after these series conclude. “Oh no, who is gonna beat Team X??”
SAS and OKC are loaded and will be tough. But seasons are long. The CBA is designed to prevent dynasties and tanking will be hard. Stay in the fight. A lot can happen.
For 31 ish years no one has watched more Raptors basketball than Doug.. 5am flights, media room dining, lining up single file at MSG to do his job… all of it. If he voted for those things he’s right.
Toronto Star’s @SmithRaps voted CHET over Scottie for All NBA 2nd team. Doug also voted for MAXIME RAYNAUD over CMB for All Rookie 1st team💀
Toronto Sun’s @WolstatSun voted Jamal Murray over Scottie for All NBA 2nd team.
At least they both voted Scottie for All Defence 1st team but still VERY questionable chooses, especially Doug’s.
Double leg hopping is totally reasonable at this time point after ACL surgery (he is more than 3 months out from his operation). Nothing to worry about #DubNation. 😅
Pape as a rookie didn’t have a drivers licence but he bought a Range Rover. We tried to teach him how to drive it in the ACC parking garage which looking back wasn’t well thought out. Within a week it was a bumper car and it sat there all year and might still be there
The issue isn’t that he did it,it’s that anyone doing this knows HOW he did it. This wasn’t Sam Presti calling him out of respect and telling him this,it was some idiot stylist telling him he bought 34 inspector gadget rain coats for Shai as gifts or something useless like that
The animosity toward Shams for reporting SGA winning MVP is absurd. This is nothing new.
He didn’t “leak” anything. Leaking implies someone within the organization receiving news and then sharing it with someone who goes on to report it. That’s the leak. The leak isn’t the person who disseminates the news.
People love when he’s breaking trades, but suddenly this crosses the line? I don’t get it.
My one question: if ESPN had the exclusive, would he have handled it the same way?
This has made me start thinking about games I'll remember this vividly. A short list:
- last night
- Thunder-Warriors Game 6
- Thunder-Warriors Steph game
- Cavs-Warriors Game 7
- Kawhi shot
- Bucks-Nets Game 7
What others do people have on their list?
Stephen A Smith calls out Chet Holmgren for not guarding Wemby:
“Chet Holmgren, what’s up? We heard all this noise all these years that y’all don’t like each other…. Chet Holmgren, you have to want this! You don’t like him right? You’re the champion and he’s coming to take what you got! What are you going to do about it? Leave it to Alex Caruso? Leave it to Jalen Williams? You gotta guard that man! At some point, he gotta embrace that challenge.”
I can’t do this all series who’s going to be the one to tell the person in front of the camera to stop putting their hands up? I’ll buy the seats and leave them empty,
They can just make one statue & move it from city to city each year based off which team has the best chance of winning… just like he did in real life.
Streamer Tylil confronted Tony Brothers after the game and pressed him about the foul calls 😭
“What the f*ck is going on Tony? LeBron is 41… National Bron Association, if LeBron gets touched or breathed on it’s a FOUL!”
Steve Kerr is remaining with the Warriors on a two-year deal that keeps him as the highest paid coach in the NBA.
