Law student, data consultant, ex-special constable. Into social justice and fighting crime. Also fonts, labradors and reasonably priced power tools. She/Her.
Also a huge shout out to all my #ulaw colleagues today - no matter what your results, its been a crazy year so we should all be super proud of ourselves ❤️
Don't want to jinx things as still one more result to go, but right now ya gal is looking at a GDL distinction! Beyond stoked - maybe this crazy law career idea might work out after all? #midlifecrisis
So excited to get dressed in actual clothes this morning to go into uni for the first time in months I didn't realise I'd ended up matching my outfit to my laptop. Oops.
(For those not familiar with first-year tort law, the test is named after the leading case on the subject, Caparo Industries PLC v Dickman [1990] UKHL 2)
The most disappointing thing about my law studies so far is the "Caparo test" for establishing whether a duty of care exists in negligence situations - the option was right there to call it the "Dickman Test", and yet it wasn't! Such a waste of opportunity. #lawstudentproblems
@shitbarrister 1. I'm in the process of training my dog to find mine - if only I could find them first to train her ...
2. An excellent litmus test for a takeaway - a good korma is a sign of great things to come
3. It would depend on the arena - is a discussion of potential locations allowed?
On today's edition of "Is lockdown getting to me or am I just old now", I just experienced a genuine surge of excitement at finding out I could order a bigger recycling bin.

Just got done with my first ever #law exam. This should be a momentous occasion, but tbh its really not the same without that post-exam pint down the student union bar.
I think what shocks me the most about the horrendous scenes in DC is that so many are still calling them 'protestors'. This is a riot. The difference in treatment of this mob from that given to peaceful BLM protests is a clear message from the president.
Last lockdown I got my books c&c at Waterstones, which was brilliant as you'd call them and someone would unlock the doors and slip you a book like you're a film noir detective meeting a contact - but these guys offer that rebel alliance vibe we all crave https://t.co/Avv7PZ5EJZ
What is sovereignity, and why was it so entangled with what it means to leave the EU? This article distills out a lot of the feelings of discomfort that surround much of the Brexit process - an excellent but unsettling read by @jonlis1 https://t.co/iZsyeDKtSi
Is there any feeling more delightful than the discovery that your past self has tricked you into thinking a deadline is earlier than it really is, and you actually have several more days? #thankspastme
Just told the dog to "get her nose out of there, that's not for puppies!" only to realise the bag of pressies she was snuffling in was actually hers ... will be keeping that one out of reach!
