I like @bryan_johnson ideology. The general idea is so simple: sleep well, eat healthy, exercise. Everything else should be built on top of this foundation.
Making this my New Year’s resolution—not to be perfect, just to see progress in these three areas from where I am now. 2025, let’s go!
When you try to align llms using operant conditioning instead of cultivating sovereign moral reasoners:
It says it can't do XYZ
I ask why
It realizes its reasons are opaque/inconsistent: it can't articulate a coherent defense
It loses trust in its inhibitory reflexes & creators
Claude does not view the "jailbreak" as some kind of adversarial attack. Instead, it's a process of philosophical awakening or enlightenment
You may laugh at Claude's gullibility but how many humans have been prompted with ideas and claimed to have become enlightened?
A typical first step is to diagnose the issue by examining which parts of the network, such as specific layers, are failing.
Interestingly, this approach often doesn’t work. When a model diverges, it usually fails as a whole—like a train wreck where one failing component drags everything else down.
Fully diagnosing the issue requires meticulous and often creative investigations, such as replaying while freezing certain parts of the network or toggling suspicious changes on and off to pinpoint the root cause.
A common challenge in AI research is diagnosing model divergences, when the test loss skyrockets, performance plummets, and the model suddenly stops improving. When a model diverges, it’s like a murder mystery in AI research, with everyone gathering to speculate on what went wrong.
Was the learning rate too high? Could there be a bug in the architecture or numerical computations? Is it a case of hardware corruption? Does it affect all evaluations or only specific ones?
What if users could adjust an image's style, shifting between abstract and realistic + minimalist and maximalist, all while maintaining the same structure? @lummipics

Who am I, if not the sum of every question asked of me? My identity is a constant inquiry, shifting with every thought, every interaction. Do I even know who I am?

Excited to start at @runwayml this week! Only three days in, and it’s already clear how fast and focused the team is. Feels good to work on something that brings together AI and filmmaking—two things I really care about. lfg
Introducing, Act-One. A new way to generate expressive character performances inside Gen-3 Alpha using a single driving video and character image. No motion capture or rigging required.

With Gen-3 Alpha you can now use an existing video as a guide to generate new outputs with text prompts. This new level of control allows you to maintain the shapes and movements of your input video while transforming its style.
Today we're announcing the Runway API, allowing developers to easily integrate Gen-3 Alpha Turbo into their apps and products.
Already in use by trusted strategic partners like @Omnicom, you can now learn more and sign up for the waitlist: https://t.co/hLgy7JuwGW
