I know, with increasing precision, what I want my life to contain. Meaningful work. Financial ease. A home that feels expansive and alive. Books everywhere. A table with people around it. Work that travels further than I do. Time to think. Time to write.
FIDA-Kenya chair Christine Kungu: While no judgment can restore the life of Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby, today's decision reinforces public confidence that justice can be achieved through the rule of law.
You also have to keep at the back of your mind that if you allow yourself to be pressured into a life that doesn’t align with you, you’ll ultimately be the one paying the price for it. The people rushing you won’t live with the consequences, you will.
There’s nothing to smile about anymore 💔 Not one single thing! My tl is just kids; kids missing, kids raped, kids brutally murdered, kids dead with missing organs, kids starving, kids trafficked, kids sold to sexual slavery at 7 yo 😭😭We’ve teribbly failed the kids man 💔💔💔
Shida yenu ni mnataka kujifanya hamuelewi the nuances around this topic. We have one constant, MEN are killing women and there are parallel contexts on how and where this happens. Acknowledging that does not negate the bottomline that FEMICIDE is happening and needs to addressed.
There's nothing you'll do to prevent your sisters , cousins and etc from having sex with whoever they want. What we are saying is they don't deserve to be killed.
@wuodvasha@Helliieeeee There's a woman who was killed in Nakuru by the husband,Chuka University student killed by the boyfriend barely a month ago, these are two separate cases where the perpetrators were not strangers.Condem the Murderer not the victim. Everyone is a stranger at first.
Two consenting adults agreeing to sex are not consenting to death.
Two people engaged in prostitution do not have authority over each other’s lives.
If a man or woman chooses that path, it does not mean they are consenting to die.
The morality argument applies both ways.
A constant thing from all the stupid takes & justifications is women are being killed. The Nakuru woman was killed in her home by the husband & she was the breadwinner.Stfu please.
Mnashinda kuambia women to “be careful" yet we’re the ones being harmed. Both men and women meet strangers...the risk just isn’t equal.
So maybe the focus shouldn’t only be on how women avoid danger, but on why the danger exists.
@DeeKiluu_ Actually that should be the main & inly focus. Two weeks back a lady was killed by an army husband in her home. It is very important to note that she was the breadwinner & they were married. Clearly it's not about taking care & safety
