Was reminded last night that networking is great but real friendships you create with donors and partners are life giving! I had a great dinner catching up with some who flew in and I am glad I have the personality I have.
Today I spent hosting on of my Favorite festivals that we are hosting for the 3rd Yrs with @PollicyOrg . It now moves to Kampala from the 30-13st. The day started with @nabooker giving a key note address that touched on community, data and the future. #datafest2025
Spent Sun-Wed facilitating meetings as the Creative and Digital Economy Track Lead for @AfriLabs to moderating a session during the annual gathering @UN that also gave me honor of hosting the annual general meeting. #AAG2025 Representing @AKU_GSMC
We even podcasted Live
Speaking @AfriLabs on balancing heritage and innovation to build Africa’s future creative economy with @CEO@mswitch Salim Kadir @BarazaLab Program manager Edwin Gitonga, and Nailab Efo founder of Squire Consulting .
Journalism education today: Embracing change, affirming the basics, and shaping the future.
At the African Journalism Education Network Roundtable and Adenauer Media Lecture, hosted by the University of Media, Arts and Communication in Accra, Ghana (@unimac_gh) , Dean @nabooker moderated a panel discussion of journalism educators and newsroom leaders on keeping journalism curricula relevant, agile and future-facing.
The session highlighted the importance of remaining true to the principles of journalism while innovating and finding new forms of storytelling as educators prepare the next generation of journalists. This year’s meeting brings together journalism educators from 16 countries.
@AKU_GSMC@Besokenyan@sisterhood_lam Thank you for every beautiful moment you capture and the stories you tell through your lenses. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Happy World Photography Day Benson.
Thanking my boss @nabooker for always allowing me to use my creative side! Hongera to all people who pick up cameras even if its from time to time. @AKU_GSMC@AKUGlobal
Behind every photograph is someone trying to tell a story. For us at GSMC, that someone is @Besokenyan.
This year’s World Photography Day theme was “My Favourite Photo”, and honestly, it’s impossible to pick just one when it comes to Benson’s work.
Benson, thank you for capturing our best moments and turning them into stories we’ll always remember. Here’s just a glimpse of his magic #WorldPhotographyDay 🙌
