Law student practicing immigration law, yelling about art & mental illness, obsessing over NPR's Sunday programming and Minnesota politics. Highly excitable.
Don't use the word "bipolar" to describe computers that only sometimes work, or the weather, or your cat, or a person you don't know whose actions you don't understand. It's a serious illness w/ a high mortality rate amongst sufferers. You have no idea what you're talking about.
@aekopel Oooh! A few weeks ago I realized I had a copy of the Apostalic cookbook from Morris in my apt, so I wound up making chicken wild rice soup by averaging all the recipes in there (they really made it easy to work w/what you have)...I could send you pics of those pages of you want!
Yesterday I RT'd a "what can Joe Biden do to earn your vote" tweet, but only bc I've been so thoroughly unplugged from nat'l politics that I literally didn't know he's been accused of rape. I just learned about it and deleted it, and won't be engaging in that conversation again.
there's something about generations of acquired "shelter-in-place" prowess as a result of regularly being snowed and frozen into our homes...
"don't go anywhere or get near anyone!" boss, we didn't want to anyway
MN, we're the lowest & that's good. We have the lowest rate of #COVID19 cases of all states: MN ranks 50th (21 per 100K residents—@nytimes has the data at https://t.co/Xj7re50X7j). Being lowest is best—let's keep it that way. #StayHomeMN
sending love to @skriiik for today's look~ almost 10 years ago, he was kind enough to craft these for our entire intramural dodgeball team ("Kat Planet and the DGAFs") 💕
today it stands for "DO give a f*ck" because I wore it to Aldi in the name of safety and fashion
@norsellama I ate some of mine and planted the other cloves (I happened to have two small pots and a bag of soil laying around from like...years ago) so soon I'm gonna be eating garlic chives on my eggs YUM
I kind of feel like if macguyver won survivor
I don't know who needs to hear this, but, don't throw away that sprouted garlic you just found in your pantry. Garlic is still perfectly good after it sprouts! It's a little more bitter in flavor, but it's also higher in antioxidants. Cook it up and put it in your body.
I would like a queer leftist WOC urbanist young person perspective to regularly write a column to balance out a certain hysterical old white man who doesn’t understand what cities, health care, or words are.
Not sure I could land a column, but there’s always a podcast. #SUBTWEET
"i love the poorly educated"
- Donald Trump, 02/24/ 2016
who could've guessed people seeking higher education wouldn't be treated well under any circumstance
College students:
- Don’t qualify for $1200 check if claimed as dependents
- Don’t qualify for $500 bc over 18
- Don’t get tuition refund
- Don’t get rent forgiveness for off-campus housing
- Don’t get to keep on-campus jobs
- Don’t get student loan forgiveness
- ?????
Literally though...it took footage from Vietnam for people to finally stand against war...it took kids in cages for people to finally care about migrants...it took the rise of Trump for yt people to start to believe racism still exists...Why's shit gotta fall apart before we act?
Banning the working class from working during a pandemic but not banning the rentier class from extracting rents has done more to instill an immediate and furious class consciousness than anything else I've ever seen.
Why yes, I DID just log in for the first time in several months just to tweet about listening to a local morning radio show... I'm serious about this y'all, I once put "FM radio fan account" in my display name for a reason
okay, @Go953mn live broadcasting from the middle of AM traffic where Hennepin Ave meets Lyndale by the Walker because they're doing a "honk poll" where ppl vote for white meat turkey vs. dark meat by honking once or twice...is a real reason everyone should switch back to FM radio
