@shoah2024@rabbriansamuel It’s applied to the Israelites in Numbers… “He crouched, he lay down like a lion and like a lioness; who will rouse him up? Blessed are those who bless you, and cursed are those who curse you.”
Numbers 24:9 ESV
Interestingly enough the Book of Mormon explains this one pretty well, even though the LDS Church explains it differently.
Mosiah 15:1-7
I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people.
2 And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—
3 The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—
4 And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth.
Thanks for sharing that, I still see One God manifesting himself in the flesh.
3 Nephi 11:27
And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
Also see 1st John 5:7-8
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”
1 John 5:7-8 KJV
There’s a distinction between being one and agreeing as one.
See my other post, but if you can show any passages that would support this? Because If He is the fist and the last and beside Him there is no God or God formed that would make that scenario of 3 distinct beings/gods impossible?
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.”
Isaiah 43:10 KJV
“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
Isaiah 44:6 KJV
This passage again says he is the very Eternal Father, not just Father of creation?
Mosiah 16:15
“15 Teach them that redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father. Amen.”
If there is only One God how can 3 different gods fill that position? Wouldn’t it make sense that The One True God can reveal himself in different ways to us? So not 3 gods with one purpose but One God that reveals himself as Father, Son and The Holy Spirit for His purposes.
If you can reference any passages that show it different? Because I do think Mosiah 15 does do a good job of explaining it.
@JonathanDAndrus@Jon00618269@justin_hart Is Jesus worthy of worship? Because if he is not “the boss” then we shouldn’t be worshipping him.
“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another...”
Isaiah 42:8 KJV
Please explain.
Alma 11:28-29
28 Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God?
29 And he answered, No.
Alma 11:38-40
Now Zeezrom saith again unto him: Is the Son of God the very Eternal Father?
39 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, he is the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, and all things which in them are; he is the beginning and the end, the first and the last;
40 And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else.
I think Book of Mormon explains it even though it’s taught different by the LDS Church…
Mosiah 15:1-5
I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people.
2 And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—
3 The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—
4 And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth.
And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God…
@JonathanDAndrus@Jon00618269@justin_hart Can you please reconcile what both the texts I’ve shared so far say then? Because it appears to be saying one thing and the video is saying something different.
I have read it, there are several spots that explain it different than the posted video. Happy to discuss!
Mosiah 15:1-4
I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people.
2 And because he dwelleth in fleshhe shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—
3 The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—
4 And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth.
