@ryanswalters73@SoMuchBloodJoe You know those kinds of notes have inspired a lot of people to read it, right? Many a member baptized after someone told them not to read the Book of Mormon.
@MetzUAC1530@SoMuchBloodJoe@ConcordiaPub LOL what Bible passage isn’t “easily accessible”. You act like it’s hard to put together a meaningless list of passages to support whatever idea you have. I could find a bible passage that supports the idea that you are a fool.
@WesleyLHuff Notice, when restricting yourself to few characters and getting out the most important message about Jesus, most of the creedal content is left out.
@MarkRome17@gwowls Exactly. Jesus was God, became a man, then returned to heaven. So Jesus was once a man. Basic Christianity that modern “Christians” take offense at.
@RealParkerBrown@Ch_JesusChrist We don’t believe the Bible? I sure wasted a lot of time studying it in LDS seminary, and getting up early so my dad could read it to me, not to mention all the time spent pouring over its pages in my adult life. I wish someone had told me this sooner.
@surskitmaxxing@Mormonger I see no catch 22. Why would God deserve less worship? If God is indeed the greatest being that it is possible to be, why would him taking intelligence and embodying it in a spiritual form, and then further into a physical form somehow make him less than himself. Still greatest
@swarley75042565@keystonecfp@Sam_Fidler@Mormonger With all your bluster, you haven’t landed a blow. Theology degrees is what you are hung up on? Really? Talk about an argument from authority with no teeth. That’s all you got.
@The2nd1776@originaldmplus@Mormonger Speculation not necessary is his point. You are pointing to one sentence of one sermon and deriving from that what you think LDS theology is while ignoring what the LDS church has officially stated as our theology. You are making an argument against a straw man.
@Jon00618269@Bessenbacher@justin_hart Of course everyone is entitled to their beliefs. Any rando can declare a thing not true. Then, the rational thinkers in the room continue their discussion on substance.
@Bessenbacher@Jon00618269@justin_hart 3 Nephi 11, the central high point of the BOM. The Father’s voice introduces the Son (“my Beloved Son”), and then the Son personally descends and speaks to the people. This shows two divine personages acting separately. Jesus then prays to the Father in front of the people.
@OurLadysDonor @JonahBa96958909 He’s not worried about our souls. He’s advocating for murder because he wants to see our souls damned in hell. He’s saying the exact opposite of what you say. Wanting to become like Jesus is what he asks us to do and LDS people serve big time.
