Back on April 18, 2018 the International Space Station took a picture of the #MackinacBridge from space and shared it with the world! St. Ignace is at the top of the photo and Mackinaw City is at the bottom. A picture of the Mighty Mac like this is too amazing not to reshare!
65 years ago, to date the #MackinacBridge was officially begun amid proper ceremonies on May 7 & 8, 1954, at St. Ignace and Mackinaw City.
Dr. David B. Steinman - Designer and Engineer of the #MackinacBridge
I could not have been in better, more capable hands these last 17 years than with my friend Bob Sweeney. Thank you Bob @mackinacbridge I will miss you! #MackinacBridge

Wow! Almost missed this today - I’ve been so busy helping drivers cross safely (I only do this Social Media thing in my “down” time.) I do think I’m the BestViewEver!!! The best view in Michigan: Ascending the towers of the Mackinac Bridge https://t.co/V3ZwIZHWUK
After 17 years as Executive Secretary, Bob Sweeney is set to retire from the @mackinacbridge. He will be missed by many.

Thank you @TheOfficialMRLA for this shout out on what I think was a most momentous day indeed (if I do say so myself) and for referring to me as a “state treasure”. #restaurants#lodging#tourism
On this day in 1952 the Michigan legislature authorized the financing and construction of our state treasure, the Mackinac Bridge.

If you cross @MackinacBridge this summer, you may see our maintenance crew working on the cables, but we no longer send our crew up in a modified steel drum. They are lifted using a steel basket these days! It's safe to say that our maintenance has never been afraid of heights!
