@MrLuckhurstY5 @TTSSchoolDirect@WhiteRoseMaths However, I also like B for the idea of exchanging one whole for five fifths.
Makes a nice link to the way we exchange when we are subtracting using column method.
Loved delivering a full day of fractions to @TTSSchoolDirect primary trainees today. Lots of brilliant discussions including looking at multiple methods to subtract mixed numbers. Which method would you use, or have you got a different one? @WhiteRoseMaths
@MrLuckhurstY5 @TTSSchoolDirect@WhiteRoseMaths I think A is interesting because until you convert to improper fractions I don’t think it’s obvious that one mixed number is double of the other!
C definitely requires a number line to explain the constant difference ☺️
Following the Prime Minister's statement at 7pm tonight, West Yorkshire will not be entering Tier 3 restrictions on Monday 2 November. The region will follow the national restrictions on Thursday. A statement from Leaders will follow.
@henitus Perfect Saturday morning read. I was getting concerned with the lack of update over the past 2 days. I watched the entire of Emily in Paris over two days and completely loved it.
@MrMattock @MathsteryByMrJ Really interesting! Massive shift in language but makes complete sense. I discuss the fact we are always making groups of 3 but depending on the column depends on the value. Did this due to link to ‘How many 3s in.....’ which is common language used.
