My own personal experience with doing hand counts for recounts in Michigan validates all the concerns expressed in this article.

I'm not saying our current system works well, but I don't see a real, viable solution offered by the "hand count only" crew.
And I don't believe anyone has to steal elections anymore... The 4 year effort to wake people up to fraud, has discouraged people from bothering to vote.

We are suppressing our own vote at this time‼️

People need to remember, there is no such thing as a fraud free election. There has never been.

The fact that some people didn't realize this during Bush/Gore and just woke up in 2020, doesn't mean humans suddenly decided they wanted power at any cost.

Being born in America didn't somehow exempt us from human nature.

We need logical solutions to handle real issues... But we have complications to deal with, like state constitutions.

We will not change that if we only reach those already in this EI movement.

And we aren't growing support by screaming at clerks to do things the law doesn't allow, or yelling at the average person from another party that they somehow; stole an election.

Don't even get me started on screaming about sharpies.... Newsflash, if you ever wrote a letter with an ink pen & your hand got covered in ink... That was because it takes time to dry.
That shit rubs off on the scanner and screws up reading other ballots.
Felt tip pens dry faster, it's why they are used.

Can we please start having honest conversations & soliciting solutions that are possible?

A tie is dumb because the entire point of sports is to determine who won. Figure it out. Flip a coin. Do penalty shots. Anything is better than spending 90 minutes arriving at absolutely nothing.

It is the equivalent of a Kent County judge writing an opinion with AI that hallucinates quotations and cites things that do not exist. The process technically reached a conclusion, but everyone knows it is strikingly ridiculous.
