"I support Beto O’Rourke’s gun control plan and assault weapons buyback ... I’m excited to vote for Beto and I think he would the best candidate, the best man for the job and I hope you are too.”
-- Jon Turner, veteran in Greer, South Carolina
"I really love his compassion, the way he connects with people, the way he listens, his no-nonsense, no-BS approach to addressing issues and having the courage to say things that other people may not want to say."
-Anne Marie Bowdoin in Charleston on her support for @BetoORourke
That’s a wrap on my trip to South Carolina! I had such a great time meeting with supporters, volunteers and students here in the Palmetto State. I learned about the issues important to South Carolinians, and I am grateful to everyone who is getting involved in their communities.
Enjoyed meeting the @wbcofsc and speaking w/ students & faculty, many of whom are entrepreneurs. Women-owned businesses are a driver of economic growth, and we need to expand entrepreneurial centers like this to ensure people have access to capital to launch their own business.
Behind the scenes look with Abbey O’Brien from WCSC, discussing my meeting with students from College of Charleston on gun violence prevention and getting involved in issues they’re passionate about.
This morning, I sat down for a discussion with student activists and ambassadors at @CofC to discuss gun violence prevention. They recognize that everyone needs to be at the table, even if you see things differently. We must step out of our comfort zones to chat meaningfully.
