For my Dad - Jim Fletcher - #DDay started a day earlier when he and his men secretly took a mobile radar system MONRAD over to Sword Beach ready to support the main D-Day landings. Landing and setting up a radar station at Sword Beach was no picnic.

@WeHaveWaysPod How about the fall of Singapore 15 Feb 42 but link it to the extraordinary three month sea voyage undertaken by the 18th Division. Left Liverpool 30 Oct 41, sailed via Nova Scotia, Trinidad, Cape Town, Bombay & finally arriving Singapore just two weeks before the surrender.
