Bolstered by Dr. Rebecca Folkerth’s talk on “Patterns of injury in the pediatric nervous system”, particularly this wise statement: “‘certainty’ may be elusive, but common sense and intellectual honesty are valuable.” #Neuropath2018#forensicpath
If Pacinian “neuroma” is a real thing, then this is the closest I’ve ever seen to a convincing example! If one Pacinian corpuscle is amazing, why not a whole cluster of them?! Gorgeous pic from @VishwasParekh! #dermpath#Pathology#dermatology#bstpath
Rosai-Dorfman disease - sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy. Rare, usually good prognosis, most commonly presents as cervical lymphadenopathy, Sheets of histiocytes, some with emperipolesis SHML cells CD68+ PS100+ @juan_rosai#pathology#HemePath#PediPath
Among Reed-Sternberg variants, "Muppetoid cells" are surely the rarest. This one - a Kermitocyte - was from a case of Hodgkin Lymphoma involving only a single group of cervical lymph nodes, as confirmed by mupPET-CT.

Leukoerythroblastosis and myelophthisic anemia can be associated with any marrow-replacing process. In this case, the likely etiology was post-essential thrombocythemia myelofibrosis.
Image of the day, for Mother's Day: amniotic fluid embolism, among the most poorly-understood causes of maternal mortality. Despite its rarity (~1/20,000 births), it causes 10 percent of maternal deaths #forensic#pathology#histology
