The fact that the two men who brutalised a police officer at Manchester Airport will NOT face a retrial is a shocking disgrace.
It is a huge miscarriage of justice and they only ever seem to go in one direction.
The British justice system is BROKEN.
Time for changes.
@RupertLowe10 Change the record Rupert, it’s getting very boring.
There is a lot more to running Great Britain than rape gangs and immigration you fucking clown.
@LizWebsterSBF@AndyBurnhamGM All I heard was Starmer with a northern accent. The same shallow straplines that mean absolutely nothing to the British public.
This is exactly why we’re in the mess we’re in. We don’t need another clueless career politician running this country.
Businesses wouldn’t sack someone, and then bring someone who’s the same or arguably worse, in as a replacement. Why does the government?
Let’s check his CV shall we?
Burnham’s professional trajectory is entirely inside the Westminster bubble:
1994-97: Researcher to Tessa Jowell MP
1997: Parliamentary officer, NHS Confederation (a few months)
1997-98: Administrator, Football Task Force
1998-2001: Special adviser to Culture Secretary Chris Smith
2001-17: MP for Leigh
2003-05: Parliamentary Private Secretary
2005-06: Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Home Office
2006-07: Minister of State for Health
2007-08: Chief Secretary to the Treasury
2008-09: Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport
2009-10: Secretary of State for Health
2010-15: Various shadow cabinet roles under Miliband (Health, Education)
2015-16: Shadow Home Secretary under Corbyn
2010, 2015: Two failed Labour leadership bids (fourth, then second to Corbyn)
2017-present: Mayor of Greater Manchester
No private sector experience, no market-facing role, no operational P&L. Three years of unpaid intern journalism between Cambridge and the Jowell job is the closest he gets to the real economy. Signature mayoral achievement is Bee Network bus franchising. “King of the North” branding crystallised in the October 2020 Tier 3 funding row.
Currently the only UK politician with a net positive polling rating, which is why his name keeps surfacing as the Starmer alternative; though the NEC blocked his 2026 Gorton and Denton by-election bid, and his recent comments on bond markets and defence spending unsettled gilts, tells you all you need to know about the gap between his instincts and the constraints he’d actually inherit.
Would be a fucking car crash. Classic. Can’t wait.
Can everyone please stop this nonsense about Labour MPs and ministers waiting to hear what @Keir_Starmer says in his big speech at 10am before deciding on his future?
Everyone knows that the PM is supremely incapable of delivering a speech with either the content or passion needed to change his political fortunes.
If he says "more of the same but we need better messaging", he's toast.
If he says "I'm going to change everything", he's admitting he's wasted the last 2 years and he's toast.
Most voters won't be listening anyway. And even if they were, and could survive more than 3 minutes of his nasal tones, they won't believe a single word he says. The polls won't change. He's toast.
This guy is here on a temporary three year student visa. He just won a 5 year term in the Scottish Parliament.
He is currently crowdfunding for another temporary visa
Mental. Absolutely mental
@LBC I am fed up of obnoxious media presenters asking what they think are clever questions about Brexit failures.
Farage had literally ZERO control over the success of a post-Brexit Britain. The pro-EU Government wanted it to fail.
The British people understand this.
I can’t believe what I’ve just watched.
Socialist teachers who are striking, right in exam mock periods, are being counter protested by very grown up and sensible teenagers DEMANDING that they be taught back in school.
These “teachers” should be ashamed of themselves. Draped in Gaza flags, and flying far-left “Stand Up to Racism” and Unite Union banners outside a school.
Keep your politics out of our schools and DO YOUR JOB.
If taxes were fair:
You earn $100,000 per year and pay $30,000 in tax.
Your neighbor earns $1,000,000 and pays $300,000 in tax.
Your neighbor is paying 10X more than you.
If taxes were fair, you should both pay $30,000, since you both receive the same government services.
CV.
Completely ruined a major 126 year old political party in less than 2 years.
Became the most hated UK Prime Minister in history.
Unilaterally gave away billions of £'s of taxpayers money with no accountability required from the recipients.
Wrecked the economy.
Failed to control mass immigration, both legal and illegal.
Failed to address the problem of muslim rape gangs.
Increased welfare payments to a point where benefits now cost more than the entire income tax take.
Allowed weekly pro-Palestinian hate marches on our streets.
Consistently referred to people with concerns about the proliferation of migrant violence as "Far Right".
Promoted one of his friends to high office despite knowing he was a buddy of one of the most prolific paedophiles on the planet.
Consistently worked to reverse the result of the biggest democratic vote in British history by stealth.
Placed tax dodgers, fraudsters and CV fantasists in Ministerial posts.
Invited a known islamist terrorist to No.10 while simultaneously banning foreign commentators from the UK for merely reporting on the border fiasco.
Took two weeks to find a Royal Navy ship that actually worked.
Introduced legislation that will destroy the private rental market and create hundreds of thousands of homeless families.
Promised to build 1.5 million homes in five years despite everyone telling him it would be impossible.
Failed to help motorists and hauliers after the rise in the price of fuel caused by the war in Iran.
Continues to allow Ed Milliband to wreck the UK's energy industry with his insane Net Zero policies.
Raised the minimum wage and employers National Insurance contributions leading to thousands of job losses and businesses folding.
Introduced VAT to private school fees leading to many excellent seats of learning closing their doors.
Consistently refused to answer questions during the session in the parliamentary week set aside for this specific purpose.
Consistently failed to accept responsibility for any wrong doing, preferring to sack others instead.
Alienated "working people" while claiming to be on their side.
And the lies. The constant lies.
Failure. Failure. And more Failure.
Time to go.
