I can’t walk in to my private sector MD, why should I be allowed to at the VA. VA police need de-escalation training. Get a denials department to follow Medicare guidelines.

Most of the employees I met were far more interested in their benefits than they were in caring for veterans. VA needs a mandatory orientation class for all (no matter how long you’ve been there).

@Deadheadcamper @SecVetAffairs @DeptVetAffairs It would be nice if VA healthcare emulated Medicare. Medicare rules would apply. Including rationale for denials. Veterans would have a much better understanding of their benefits.

@Reid_Roberts_ @SecVetAffairs @DeptVetAffairs The VA needs an outside person to investigate and see if the complaint is legitimate. To be fair, some veterans complain just because they can. One veteran complained because she didn’t get an approval for a reverse osmosis system installed in her home.

They have their own best interest and it’s NOT for the veteran. Plus, the more complaints a person has, means no raise. So they cover up your complaint to get their raise.

Community care has competition for my (veterans) services, the VA doesn’t. Some VA employees actually give a rip, but a lot don’t. It doesn’t take much to make someone feel welcome.
