There were 41 fatalities in residential fires between December 2-8 in the US according to @usfire. 7 were children. The holidays are especially critical times. Smoke detectors and fire-accident education can save lives!
Residential fire dispatched at 8:10 Wednesday morning. 200 block of Kenley Court. Propane fire in kitchen of unoccupied home under construction. Alert neighbor on way to work noticed fire and called 911. That and fast response saved structure.
One alarm fire in a commercial building. Dispatched at 0425 Sat. 100 block of East Main. Quick response by @BFD confined damage to interior. Some smoke damage to adjoining buildings. Spontaneous combustion suspected.
Retired #BFD Chief for 30 years, Fred Bruss, being saluted at City Hall on Veteran’s Day. Chief Bruss also served in the Army Air Corp in WW II flying 60 missions. He was shot down 3 times and received numerous decorations for his service #nevergforget
