Final 50 seconds of regulation:
LeBron makes layup & free throw to go up 2
Refs overturn a charge on KD that would've given CLE ball, KD makes 2 FT to tie
LeBron makes another layup to put CLE up 2
K-Love stupidly fouls Steph on an and-1 layup to give GS 1 point lead
George Hill bricks go-ahead FT
JR Smith dribbles clock out like a dumbass with a timeout left
If you want a sequence that perfectly captures LeBron's career, that's it.
Hopefully Victor Wembanyama knows that if he loses in the Finals at 22 years old, he will no longer be eligible to ever be considered better than Michael Jordan.
I wholeheartedly believe the NBA community took LeBron James going to 8 straight Finals for granted. It takes a monumental effort to get there. The fact that it became routine is mind boggling. To this day he’s the most underrated competitor that’s ever played.
I am not for the OWNERS. I am FOR my TEAM having a fair shot just like any other team. I do not care about anything else. The players will still be millionaires and the owners will still be billionaires no matter what happens.
The only reason the Dodgers get to make Kyle Tucker the most paid player in baseball is because they have the HIGHEST TV deal in baseball. Sorry that is UNFAIR. Small market teams do not stand a chance.
Dak Prescott still makes $60 million a year in a CAPPED league so I do not want to hear the excuse that is suppress wages. That is the biggest myth going around.
A cap and floor is the way to go and if it takes 3 years to happen. I DO NOT CARE.
Over their last 14 games:
Cubs offense slashing .183/.289/.285
Their .574 TEAM OPS in that span is MLB-worst and 46 points LOWER than 2nd-worst Angels
Hard to find a lower, longer cold streak than this one.
The Chicago Cubs, who opened the week with a 15-game home winning streak, their longest since 1935, go winless during their homestand and have lost 8 games in a row.
They were swept by the Houston Astros, 8-5, who came into Wrigley with a 20-31 record and MLB's worst ERA.
Middle America families stuck in the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time that is travel baseball.
Baseball needs Legion Ball played at high school fields in t-shirts and gray pants more than ever right now.
Bezos went on CNBC yesterday and said "You could double the taxes I pay and it's not gonna help that teacher in Queens."
And all the bureaucrats and socialists lost their minds.
Promise the teacher a raise. Tax everyone. Launder the money through Washington. Then blame the billionaire. We aren't morons Ro, we've seen this before.
Bezos said the bottom half of earners should pay zero federal income tax.
A nurse in Queens making $75K hands the IRS $12K a year. He said cut it to zero. She keeps her full paycheck. No bs refund, paperwork or shady government program.
Simple.
They won't do it. And you should ask yourself why.
They don't ACTUALLY want to help anyone. They just want to pretend they tried and get your votes while making you hate the ppl they scammed.
They want the money to flow through Washington, the city, every ponzi department and consultant and charity so each one can wet their beak.
By the time it reaches the teacher it's maybe $100, if that...
And then they'll blame the billionaire who hasn't paid their "fair share." Right Warren???
Lets take a gander at Mamdani's education budget.
NYC spends $42K per student per year, 3x the national average ($15K). Highest in America. Florida pays $9K.
NYC spends more per pupil than most people pay for private school or college. Its frickn insane.
The budget has gone up every year, enrollment has gone down. With all that money only 3 out of 10 kids can read in the 8th grade. Cuba can read better english and they speak spanish lol.
So where is the money going? Def not to teachers. but shh, ro doesn't want you to know that.
A starting teacher in NYC makes $65K. Mamdani's city spends $42K per kid, runs a $40B budget. You could pay every teacher six figures with that money and have 12 kids per a classroom. But thats too logical.
It goes to administrators. Consultants. Overtime. Unions. Friends and family businesses. Pensions for people who left a decade ago. Studies about studies. Buildings that take ten years to renovate. Everyone else but the kids, teachers and actual schools
THERE IS ENOUGH MONEY.
Politicians decide where the money goes. Teachers are underpaid because of how government spends money. Not because Bezos doesn't pay enough.
Then they stand outside a billionaire's apartment with a camera and tell you he's the problem.
That's the SCAM.
Ro Khanna says tax billionaires to fund $60K teacher salaries. NYC already spends enough to fund $100K teacher salaries. The money's there, Ro. Your people are the ones who won't give it to her.
Federal level is the same story. DOE spending up 649% since 2000 and kids aren't any smarter. GAO found $186 billion in improper payments last year. $3 trillion in errors since 2003. It’s criminal.
Stop taxing the nurse. No bureaucracy. Just let the woman keep her full paycheck.
Outrage is deflection.
They'd rather she pay.
Because her keeping her own money doesn't fund the machine and they lose the one thing that keeps the whole racket going: a billionaire to blame.
This is what our society fails to comprehend.
If I work as a physical therapist, and I’m good, I’ll make $100,000/yr. And pay $15,000 in taxes. I can see 60 patients per week. But that’s the end of it. No additional tax money, no more patients can get my services. I provide a living for myself and my family.
If I own a practice and employee 10 therapists that each make $100,000, now I’m providing a living for 10 families, and because of my efforts there is now $250,000 in tax revenue.
So why should businesses get taxed more? Why should they even have to pay payroll taxes? My value to society is way more than 10X at this point.
But the vast majority of Americans can’t comprehend that, neither do our congressional representatives.
This sounds just like select youth sports. Pay thousands of dollars so your 10 year old can make the bronze division team, to then fly to Vegas to play a team that is from the neighboring town just 30 minutes away, all so your kid can get exposure to D1 coaches.
The sports world is broken.
Shannon Sharpe on the Lakers taking LeBron James for granted:
“The Lakers eight years before LeBron got there, they was 279 and 371. They won 42% of their games. In the eight years with LeBron, they’re 357 and 278. That’s 56% win rate. So overall before he arrived at your franchise you’re winning about 40% of your games. Once he’s there, you win about 62% of your games. So basically that’s a 22% increase. Now this them people like, “Oh, LeBron ain’t do nothing.” Eight years in Milwaukee. How many championships does Giannis have? How many NBA finals have he gone to? One, he’s finals MVP. In eight years in Denver how many championships have Jokic won? Interesting. Now, Giannis is deemed successful. Jokic is deemed successful. Only one with the same amount of championships, a finals MVP, only one is deemed unsuccessful.”

This is probably the least infuriating playoff series LeBron has lost. He's ancient & his team is way worse than his opponent. It's going exactly as expected.
In terms of most infuriating, I would say:
1) 2023 vs Nuggets (Jamal Murray turning into the GOAT for 4 games ruined LeBron's last real chance for a ring. LA would've destroyed Miami in the Finals)
2) 2015 vs Warriors (extremely winnable if not for Kyrie getting hurt, this one really gets me mad)
3) 2017 vs Warriors (KD made it unfair, still, even w/o KD, GS would've been tough to beat, but possible)
4) 2018 vs Warriors (had no chance to win but still very annoying b/c his 2018 PO run was legendary & seeing him have nothing to show for it was/is sad.)
5) 2009 vs Magic (literally the greatest playoff run any player has ever had was ruined by Orlando's fluke 3 point shooting. Not sure CLE would've beaten LA in Finals tho)
"Where is 2011?" In the moment it was the worst. But it's pretty cut & dry. LeBron got what he deserved. He didn't show up. There's not much to think about IMO. I also don't know if MIA still wins the next 2 if they won in 2011. Motivation matters.
