LeBron James has officially signed his two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers with a player option -- plus a full 15% trade kicker, per sources.
Spike Eskin posted a video trying to defend his awful LeBron James take and somehow made himself look even worse

New: just got off phone w/former state Sen Pres & gubernatorial candidate Troy Jackson, a strong ally of Platner's w/some of the same labor support that helped Platner's rise. Calls sexual assault allegation "very serious." If Platner steps aside, he's "very, very interested."
JUST IN: A disappointing jobs report. The US economy added 57,000 jobs in June (below expectations of 115k). Hospitality jobs decline by -61k. Plus, April and May were revised lower by -74,000.
The unemployment rate fell to 4.2% --> the lowest in a year, but mainly due to a big drop in people job hunting.
The bad news = Wages aren’t keeping up with inflation. Wage gains were 3.5% in the past year, which is below ~4% inflation.
This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious.
Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal. https://t.co/72wxaVLzVT
Sorry, but nobody is beating Susan Collins by a wide margin. She's an absolute powerhouse, won by *9 points* in 2020 against a qualified and uncontroversial Dem who outspent her 2-to-1 on the same ballot Joe Biden won Maine. Any Dem would be lucky to eek out a razor-thin win.
Steyer needs to beat Hilton by roughly 14 points in late mail to advance, and recent ED drops are already showing signs of meeting or even exceeding that benchmark.
Currently, the top-three is within 7.3 points. A very blue electorate could allow him to edge out Hilton.
CA reporting continues to trickle in, but takeaways:
-Raman and Steyer still have realistic paths to the top two.
-Both the California governor’s race and Los Angeles mayoral race may remain uncalled until the weekend.
-Tomorrow’s late mail drops will tell us a lot.
Hang tight.
AND ALANI BANKHEAD HAS WON THE MONTANA SENATE PRIMARY. There is a rumor that she might drop out of the race for independent candidate Seth Bodnar, former president of the University of Montana. Polling shows Seth Bodnar alone can make the deep red state competitive!
Steyer needs a large shift in the late mail, but that remains very possible. His vote share confidence interval still clearly overlaps with Hilton’s, meaning there is still meaningful uncertainty in the race.
Short-term, the Eagles absolutely got worse, unquestionably.
But, they will have major future savings which will help keep their young defensive core together, & they traded him when they could get real value in return. No chance they'd have gotten a 1 for him next offseason.
This is stunning.
Personal savings rate April 2025: 5.5%
Personal savings rate April 2026: 2.6%
That's a sharp plunge.
It underscores how squeezed Americans are right now with higher prices and incomes not keeping up.
Maybe you can explain some of this away by Baby Boomers retiring, but not all of it.

Talarico has a nasty battle ahead of him, but everything that needed to happen for Democrats to turn Texas blue has happened.
The economy is shit, Trump’s approval is cratering, and the GOP is nominating the worst possible candidate for the general election.
At minimum, Republicans are going to spend a small fortune defending a state Trump won by 14%.
FWIW the median Talarico vs Paxton matchup is currently at R+1 in our (to-be-released) @SplitTicket_ model. Cornyn vs Talarico was R+6. Hard to overstate how badly Rs may have shot themselves in the foot; even if Paxton wins, he's taking a ton of money away from Ohio/Alaska/Iowa.
