@JordonAM If people want a shitty feeling controller just go and use the Arcadia 2001's controller. Utter ass. Worse than the Intellivision, Colecovision, and Atari 5200 hands down NO CONTEST.
@jane_trademark I love Kirby games though. They are very fun. Although I haven't played a lot of titles. Adventure on NES, Mass Attack on DS those are fun.
@BillySakmann@redraidertech@brettgallman Blu-Ray is a resolution increase of 2.25x of the 480i of VHS. You also get it all in Progressive Scan and with lossless surround sound formats. VHS only got Dolby Surround (which is matrixed and not discrete, also less channels).
@gonomatry Yeah if you're stupid. Super Mario Bros. Was such a mania in Japan that a best selling book was a GUIDE TO FAMICOM MARIO. Super Mario is for all ages and I don't want to hear otherwise.
@brettgallman All of these compounded by the fact that Laserdisc was always obscure in comparison and couldn't record (in the consumer space). You got to have making of videos instead of sending away for a tape if one even existed. No rewinding or flipping discs. Disc swapping for long titles.
@brettgallman DVD was such a massive improvement over VHS and Laserdisc. You got all the benefits of Laserdisc at a lower cost and improved convenience with higher picture quality. Subtitles, commentary tracks, language tracks, special features, etc.
@BillySakmann@redraidertech@brettgallman 4K Ultra High Definition or 2160p is the resolution used on UHD Blu-Rays. How can you not know this when discussing video formats?
@thebiffstarbuck@brettgallman You know they made DVD Recorders that can take DVD-RAM, DVD±R, and DVD-RW. They usually only have Composite, S-Video(?), and RF in.
@MccallMich96945@brettgallman BetaCam uses a component video signal that is different from the composite video signal on BetaMax. Both of these are incompatible on each others respective hardware and I've heard anecdotally that they can actually cause damage to the video heads.
@MccallMich96945@brettgallman I mean only if you consider the Beta 1 speed. Which was discontinued extremely quickly and later Beta players (talking like 1980) were incompatible. You may be thinking of BetaCam (a completely different format) which was only used in the professional space.
