121 Years of @BankofIndia_IN , a journey built on trust, service and progress.
121st Foundation Day is not merely about looking back.
It is about carrying forward a 120-year legacy of public service, financial inclusion, technological innovation and nation-building.
The past gives us pride.
The present gives us strength.
The future gives us responsibility.

905 days since the 9th Joint Note.
997 days since the December 2023 understanding when 5 Day Banking Promise was agreed in written.
Digital payments are 99.7% of transaction volume. Cheques, 2.3% of value. RBI, LIC & GIC already work five days. And Bankers offered 40 extra minutes a weekday for it. Despite everything they failed to keep the promise. A signed commitment is not a suggestion but an obligation.
Read the revised PLI matrix carefully.
In EVERY scenario — even where the Bank scores above 80% and performed magnificently — the bottom bracket receives Rs 0.
Not a reduced award. Zero!
1 in 5 officers, every year, labelled as zero contributor.
Not an incentive, a backfired initiative. We demand #5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5-Day Work Week, agreed in the March 2024 Bipartite Settlement, must be implemented without further delay.
An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
PLI too must be fair, transparent and inclusive, recognising that every achievement of our banks is built on collective effort.
No privilege. No favour. Just fairness, implementation and dignity at work.
Implement #5DayWeekandFairPLI @PMOIndia

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.
@PMOIndia
Tonight’s headline is simple: public sector bank employees delivered ₹1.98 lakh crore net profit, but their promised five-day week remains stuck in official corridors. Meanwhile, revised PLI divides colleagues into winners and compulsory losers. Government policy cannot celebrate collective success and distribute selective justice. Bankers demand dignity, fairness and implementation—not another press statement.

PSBs TURNED THE STORY AROUND. DID EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION?
From 14.58% GNPA in March 2018 to just 1.93%, Public Sector Banks have delivered a historic turnaround—while achieving record profits with fewer hands.
Yet, 5-Day Banking remains pending, and the revised PLI framework raises serious concerns about employees being left with little or no incentive.
When success is collective, why should recognition be selective?
The people who delivered the turnaround deserve a system that recognises their contribution.
Implement 5-Day Banking. Make PLI fair, inclusive and collective-performance based.

India has gone digital. Banking has gone 24×7. Only bankers are still stuck with a 6-day work week.
Modern systems demand modern work practices. Work-life balance is not a luxury—it’s essential for productivity, accountability, and better public service. Bankers deserve the same 5-day work structure followed across sectors.
Promises made must be promises kept.
#BankersDemand5DayWeek
Switching to a 5-day work week gives banks the chance to innovate and improve their services without compromising on quality. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/XnuydLxhhs
