He built Raymond Group into a Rs 12,000 crore empire.

He was once wealthier than Mukesh Ambani.

In 2015 he gave his son Gautam his entire 37 percent stake in Raymond. Worth Rs 1,000 crore.

His son then denied him the apartment promised in their agreement.

Stripped him of his Chairman Emeritus title.

Removed him from office.

His belongings including his Padma Bhushan went missing.

He spent his final years in a rented apartment in Mumbai.

He died yesterday at 87.

His son’s tribute on X was two words..”Om Shanti”

Maharashtra’s ₹5,127 Cr Historical MoU to Unlock 27,500+ Job Opportunities!

Witnessed a landmark MoU signing and exchange between the Government of Maharashtra and XSIO Logistics Parks & Horizon Industrial Parks (Blackstone Group) regarding the development of over 10 state-of-the-art Industrial and Logistics Parks across Maharashtra.

This MoU is for the development of modern industrial and multimodal logistics parks in key industrial and logistics areas of the state. As per the agreement, more than 10 modern industrial and logistics parks will be developed across Maharashtra.

These projects will cover a total area of 794.2 acres, with construction planned across 1.85 crore square feet of land. The total direct foreign investment for all these projects is ₹5,127 crore. This agreement is expected to generate a total of 27,500+ job opportunities, both direct and indirect.

These logistics parks will be set up in important locations like Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Sinnar, and Panvel. The projects will be environment-friendly, equipped with digital infrastructure, and focused on promoting employment. They will also align with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024.

This transformational partnership aims to build world-class, environmentally and socially responsible industrial and logistics hubs in places like Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, and others, creating a strong foundation for excellence in manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain operations in India.
