The government should not be in the business of managing temples or in any religion affairs. How can the Tamil Nadu government claim to be secular while directly administering temples in the first place? The state's role should be limited to setting guidelines and ensuring minimal regulation.

At the same time, all encroachments around temple premises should be removed. Temple streets should be pedestrianized with cobblestone paving, and guidelines should encourage buildings in temple zones to follow traditional Tamil architectural styles.

With some of the world's most magnificent and largest temples, Tamil Nadu has immense untapped potential. We should aim for more UNESCO World Heritage Sites and leverage this heritage to significantly boost tourism and the local economy.
