The 3-Day event will showcase rich indigenous sports of the Mising community in addition to the many other conventional sporting events and will also provide an ideal platform to highlight the immense sporting talent from within the community that is considered to be one of the “Bhumiputras” of Assam
The event is aligned with Hon’ble PM Adarniya Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of promoting indigenous sports and ensuring that no talent is overlooked and the need for increased local level competitions.
Aligned with this vision of the Hon’ble PM, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. @himantabiswa dangoriya also initiated “Khel Maharon” with the aim of identifying and grooming sporting talent right from the panchayat levels.
Established in 1971 as the North East Frontier Agency Students Union, it was later renamed as @tmpk2021 in 1982 and is a prominent student union body that has been working consistently to address the socio-economic and political issues of the Mising community.
On the occasion while acknowledging the immense contribution of the community towards the traditional and cultural realms of Assam, wished all the participants and the organizers the very best while also reminding them of how sports is an integral part of our everyday existence with holistic benefits including the development of the spirit of sportsmanship which acts as a lubricant in our social life.

Today, we observed the Jayanti of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma as 'Students Day' wherein HCM Dr. @himantabiswa unveiled a number of grants that will benefit 4 lakh students across Assam.
