In the Gateless Gate, Zen Master Kyogen presents a startling image in the Zen Koan as below:

A Zen monk hangs from a tree, gripping a branch only with his teeth. His hands hold nothing. His feet touch nothing.

Someone below asks, "What is the meaning of Bodhidharma's coming from the West?"

If he remains silent, he fails to fulfil his duty towards the Dharma.

If he opens his mouth, he falls to his death.

What should he do?

Zen does not offer a clever intellectual answer to this.

The Koan is meant to exhaust the calculating mind itself.

The essential message of this Koan is that Awakening is found not in endless analysis, but in wholehearted presence. True Wisdom is expressed Directly - Beyond the boundaries of the mind.

When the heart is free, even the impossible becomes the Way.

Zen is not asking for the right words and mental analysis here. 🙏

#OnThisDay in the year 1945, Dr #BabaSahebAmbedkar founded the People’s Education Society. The purpose of which he set out, is as follows: ‘ The People’s Education Society’s objective is not merely to give education but to give education in such a manner as to promote intellectual, moral and social democracy.

Under its well-spread umbrella, People’s Education Society runs 12 University affiliated colleges, 6 of which are affiliated to the University of Mumbai, 5 to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and one to University of Pune imparting University Education to as many as 30,000 students of whom over 15,000 belong to the under privileged classes.

Besides these, the society runs many High Schools, Diploma Institutes and Hostels. Started for imparting education to the poorer people in general and the weaker sections namely SC, ST and OBC of Indian population in particular, the society has spread like a mighty banyan tree, with a large variety of educational institution in its shade.

A Tribute to the Nine Thai Monks 🙏

The Buddhist world bows its head in sorrow.

Nine Thai monks, walking peacefully in pilgrimage and devotion, lost their lives in a tragic accident in northeastern Thailand while journeying together upon the ancient path of The Dharma.

Robes that had once moved quietly through villages receiving alms now return to silence.

May their journey onward be peaceful.

May merit accompany them like a gentle lamp through the darkness.

Buddhism teaches that impermanence is not merely a philosophical idea but the very fabric of existence itself.

Life can change between one breath and the next.

A morning pilgrimage can become an evening farewell.

For this reason, Lord Buddha encouraged urgency in practice, kindness in speech, and compassion in every encounter.

None of us truly knows which meeting will be the last, which conversation will be the final one, or which sunrise will be our own final dawn.

The passing of these monks is therefore not only a tragedy for Thailand, but a solemn reminder offered to the whole world.

May this sorrow deepen compassion rather than bitterness.

May wisdom arise from grief.

And may the merits of countless beings accompany the nine venerable monks on their onward journey. 🙏

ये "नियंडरथल मानव" हैं जो आज से 4 लाख से 40,000 वर्ष पूर्व वर्तमान इंसानों से पहले धरती पर रहते थे।

ये हमारे सबसे प्राचीन मानव रिश्तेदार थे जो यूरेशिया (यूरोप और एशिया" के कुछ हिस्सों में रहते थे।

नियंडरथल मानव वर्तमान मानव की तुलना में अधिक मांसल शरीर वाले थे और हड्डियां मोटी थी जो उन्हें ठंडे वातावरण में रहने में मदद करती थी।

नियंडरथल का मस्तिष्क वर्तमान मानव के समान होने के बावजूद वो हमारे जैसा सोचने समझने में असमर्थ थे।

जिससे वर्तमान मानव ने तेजी से चित्रकारी और तरह तरह के औजार विकसित कर पाया जबकि वो विलुप्ति तक सिर्फ पत्थर के ही औजार का प्रयोग करते रहे।

वर्तमान मानवों द्वारा विकसित उन्नत हथियार और जलवायु परिवर्तन ही इनके विलुप्ति का मुख्य कारण बना।

जब वर्तमान मानव अफ्रीका से निकलकर यूरेशिया पहुंचा जहां "नियंडरथल" रहते थे वहां भोजन और संसाधनों को लेकर अधिक संघर्ष होता रहता था जिसमें जीत वर्तमान मानव की हुई और धीरे धीरे ये विलुप्त हो गए।

नियंडरथल के विलुप्ति का कारण ये भी था कि— वो कम आबादी होने की वजह से अपने करीबी समूह में ही प्रजनन करते थे जिससे समय के साथ साथ उनकी आनुवंशिकी क्षमता खत्म होने लगी और रोगप्रतिरोधक क्षमता कमजोर लड़ने लगी और अफ्रीका से निकले वर्तमान मानव द्वारा लाई गई बीमारियां उनमें भी फैलने लगी लेकिन कम रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता होने से वो उन बीमारियों से लड़ न सके और मारे गए।

दोनों प्रजातियां अनुवांशिक रूप से अलग थी दोनों का DNA 🧬 अलग था लेकिन वैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार आधुनिक मानव के DNA में नियंडरथल का 1-2% मौजूद है।

जो प्राचीन काल में इनके बीच हुए अंतर्प्रजनन को भी दर्शाता है।
