I’ve been thinking, if I create a random conditioning/fitness test and name it after an EPL team would every soccer player do it? Not because it was a solid test, but because of the name? I would make it extremely difficult as well, so there was no denying it’s effectiveness.
THC is really harmful to teenagers and those predisposed to schizophrenia.
Get your teens off it ASAP.
CBD is not harmful and can benefit teens suffering from THC withdrawal.
If THC withdrawals are severe, a THC/CBD oil may help for a short-term period.
I’ve been spending more time studying the C in S&C and I’ve decided that properly training the aerobic system (AS) is far too beneficial to neglect. A more efficient AS will decrease the likelihood of becoming fatigue, especially in that 90’. Training it properly is the key..
Fast Eccentrics 🦿
These have been a game changer for my athletes, especially for those who struggle with COD. I’ve noticed that fast eccentrics are effective at increasing force production quickly during the deceleration phase, leading to a more efficient amortization phase.
Most team sport athletes train acceleration, but neglect training deceleration. With deceleration being a component of change of direction, which occurs hundreds (≈700 in a soccer match) of times in court and field sports it is essential to train for those braking forces.
I don’t like my soccer players long distance running. It’s just jogging. Jogging is usually quad-dominant and lacks adequate hip flexion and/or extension, which over time can lead to poor front and back side mechanics. There are better training methods to get match fit.
Want to get faster and/or jump higher? Work on increasing rate of force development. 1. Lift Heavier Loads as Fast as Possible (Intent). 2. Lift Lighter Loads as Fast as Possible (Intent). 3. Perform Exercises that Transfer the Best (e.g. squats for jumping/deadlift for acc.).
Great advice from @TimCorbin:
1. "Learn to love your parents more, but depend on them less."
2. "Get off your phone as much as you can."
3. "You don't have to play baseball 12 months out of the year to become a better baseball player."
