I AM CALLING ON FLORIDA LEADERSHIP AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ANSWER FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ANDREW AND TRISTAN TATE.

Andrew @Cobratate and Tristan @TateTheTalisman have spent 62 days locked inside Miami’s Federal Detention Center.

They have not been convicted of a crime in the United States. They have not even been charged with a crime here. They are dual U.S. citizens being held while Britain’s extradition proceedings drag on.

Andrew and Tristan have spent 61 days in the Special Housing Unit and were just moved to an even worse cell. They allege there is no hot water, no air conditioning in the Florida heat, and 10 to 15 roaches on the walls and ceiling at a time. Their lawyers say they are getting almost no recreation, almost no phone calls, and no family visits.

And yet, the government’s response is that FDC Miami “is not a Marriott.”

Meanwhile, illegal aliens are getting better treatment than two American citizens who have not been charged with a crime in this country.

THAT is what’s disgusting.

A judge denied their release on September 9, but they remain in the SHU without an American criminal charge.

THAT IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ANSWER.

You do not have to like Andrew or Tristan Tate. You can hate them. You can disagree with everything they say. I don’t care.

THE PRINCIPLE STILL MATTERS.

If you spent years screaming about January 6 defendants, pretrial detention, solitary confinement, delayed process, and alleged political targeting, but suddenly have nothing to say when two American citizens are held for two months without a U.S. criminal charge, then your outrage was never about justice. It was about WHO you liked.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY DOES NOT EXPIRE BECAUSE YOU HATE THE PERSON IT PROTECTS.

So I am calling directly on Florida leadership and the federal government: ANSWER FOR THIS.

Why are two American citizens being held under these conditions? What is the justification for their continued placement in the SHU? And who is accountable for the conditions they are describing?

THIS IS NOT ABOUT LIKING THEM.

IT IS ABOUT WHETHER AMERICAN CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS.

And if those rights only matter when the person being detained is politically convenient, then you never cared about the principle in the first place.

- They had nanny/ housekeeping help

- Their family was in the “upper middle class” category
- Grandparents helped, kids went to school and husband worked at home all true

This is not someone who deserves anyone’s sympathy. This is someone who had all the resources possibly available at her disposal
