You probably used a Naspers product today and didn't even know it.
You ordered food on Mr D. You looked for a car on AutoTrader.
You browsed listings on Property24. You bought something on Takealot.
Same company.
Naspers is Africa's most valuable listed group. They don't make physical things.
They own stakes in some of the world's fastest-growing internet businesses and have been doing it since before "ecosystem" was even a business buzzword.
Their biggest holding is a 22.66% stake in Tencent, the Chinese mega-platform. The Tencent dividend alone contributes $1.2 billion in free cash flow to the group annually.
Today they showed what patient capital actually looks like in practice.
Takealot crossed $1 billion in revenue (R16.4 billion) and delivered full-year profitability for the first time. iFood in Brazil grew 40% in revenue and generated $400 million in adjusted earnings. Group free cash flow jumped 50%. The dividend went up 40%.
These aren't lucky numbers.
They're the result of long-term thinking in a country that mostly rewards short-term noise.
Here's the real lesson:
Great companies don't become profitable overnight. They spend years building scale.
Naspers backed Takealot from 2011 all the way to 2026 without a year of profit.
The people who stayed through all of that got a 40% dividend hike today.
Patience is the strategy.
Global politics is a game of power, prove your strength and you'll have you way. If you show weakness, you'll be oppressed and plundered just as they are doing to Africa.
A Muslim woman calls March and March a vigilante group for wanting illegals immigrants to be deported. Herman Mashaba stepped in and told her it's an insult to call concerned South Africans a Vigilante group .
The United States seems intent on exacting revenge for its battlefield loss by targeting the sports arena instead.

Most South Africans only think about their credit score when they need it.
Home loan. Car finance. New phone contract. Then the bank asks. And you don't know what to say.
Here's what the number means and how to actually move it.
Your credit score runs from 0 to 999. Above 670 is considered good. Bureaus like TransUnion, Experian, and XDS calculate it based on how you handle debt.
1. Pay on time. Always.
Payment history is 35% of your score. One missed payment can drop your score by 50-100 points and stays on your record for up to 5 years. Set up debit orders 2-3 days after payday. No excuses.
2. Don't max out your credit.
Keep your card balance below 30% of your limit. R10,000 limit? Stay under R3,000. Banks call this utilization. A maxed-out card reads as financial stress, not just spending.
3. Stop applying for credit you don't need.
Every application triggers a hard inquiry. Too many in a short window and lenders see desperation. Space applications at least 3 months apart.
4. Pull your free credit report.
Every South African gets one free report per year from each bureau. Check it. Wrong late payments, outdated judgments, accounts that aren't yours. Dispute them. Successful disputes can add 20-50 points fast.
Your credit score isn't a verdict. It's a behavior score. Fix the behavior, fix the number.
