1.) How aquifers work entirely
2.) Years long legal battles to change water rights
3.) A decade of infrastructure design/permitting/building which seemingly hasn't started

Find out where your regional water authority draws from, and see if they've released any testing results. Don't assume your home water filter will be helpful unless the manufacturer can confirm.

Also I tend to think of btc as a sort of bearer asset, whereas oil is definitely a commodity.

@AdBaumann @slucy Third is in seismic design cost that they don't have. Also underground soil conditions in parts of California are some of the worst in the world to build on. Fourth, labor costs in California may be higher.

There's definitely other issues. But these are tangible at least

@AdBaumann @slucy I have a few guesses for this, and I'll leave all the government stuff out of it. First is inflation. They finished this job several years before we started. Second is in right of way acquisition. It's difficult to do in the US and emmenent domain a long and expensive process
