2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts and saying, where is the promise of his coming?
250 years ago, on July 2nd, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain.
John Adams wrote to his wife the next day:
“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.—I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
Well, not quite.
On July 4th, the delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence — and that has been the day for celebrations ever since.
@stats_feed Now just imagine how long eternity is. This life is just a vapor. Get to know the Lord Jesus while you still can, the day is coming when you will meet him.
Sad day seeing @RepThomasMassie booted out. Not surprising to see the only guy on the hill who understands economics given the axe. Having one guy with our interest in there is better than none.
@unapuckagetic No one has a sinful nature. We are just born into this life separated from God.
What do you believe is the truth then? What is this life and why are we here?
@unapuckagetic He gives everyone their opportunity to return to perfection. Most choose not to.
God sees the end from the beginning and clearly knows the price that is paid is worthy of the glory he receives in the end.
The issue is you don’t see sin for what it is.
@unapuckagetic When Adam sinned we lost access to God. Because this earth was corrupted. That’s why we are born removed from God. With our independence, and our drives we choose sin. Individuality.
Jesus had to make a way that we could come back. And the way was cleansing sin with blood.
@unapuckagetic When you’re baptized into Jesus, you are now in him. Instead of Adam. And therefore live forever in the presence of God. Born again the Bible calls it.
If you are not born again you are judged and cast into lake of fire. This is called 2nd death.
@unapuckagetic Think if it this way - we are all in Adam’s seed. Literally. In his semen if you will.
When he sinned we were all present in him. And are all under the corrupted reality he brought in.
Which is why Christ needed to be born of a virgin.
@unapuckagetic No it’s the opposite.
We inherited a death sentence. That’s not judgment. Our sins will determine our depths of hell.
Hell is the only place that is fair. Everyone gets exactly just punishment for their individual sins.
The Bible says there are None righteous, no not one.
@unapuckagetic You just don’t want to hear what I am saying is all.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
@unapuckagetic Read Roman’s 2 and 3. We are only judged on what we know and learn. Not by anything else.
We die because of Adam, not punished for his sin
Because we are of his seed, we die. When sin is finished it brings forth death.
That’s why you need to be baptized into Jesus.
